Star Citizen officially has more comedy value than most comedy shows on TV.

    Enjoy!

Coffee helps with the hunger pain, it was my go-to soft drug when I went through this myself. Also coffee usually is considered a luxury item and you know how certain demographic groups pay prime $$ for "rare" stuff that helps em distinguish themselves from the plebs ^^

Why would whales need to be in a boat?

Of course the logical thing would be to chain em to the boat in order to pull it but CiG and logical right?

Just hand them the chains. They will chain themselves quite happily.

Guard Frequency is a really good podcast covering all space games. It deserves more recognition, and it takes a balanced and interesting view about Star Citizen. #TonyWasRight

Continuing the old habit of stealing fun SA posts… This one from The Titanic:

So I really loved the meme for the ME:A comparison. I can't do a meme but here:

    2012:

    2013:

    2014:

    2015:

    2016:

    2017:

    2018:

Man, thank god we got to wait 7 years because this is awesome and will really be head and shoulders above everybody else.

    I guess?

    ---

…never mind that the ME:A comparison wasn't particularly astute (or even factually accurate) to begin with.

It's definitely not felt in any way. Mining is limited to the same few materials unless you manage to stack up missions (which is not possible anymore..) to make it worth. And even so, selling your ores to the market serves no purpose.
A good counter example was Jumpgate, with a very good dynamic economy, that forced players to haul around materials and products so their faction ships and weapons could be produced at all. At the core Elite is still a single player game, wrapped in an MMO timesink limited gameplay.. Im not saying it should be a full fledged economic sim like EvE (with properly working stock markets, player run corporations, etc) but closer to Jumpgate.
Lets see how CiG manage to avoid a fumble on that and create an economy that's dynamic enough, while avoiding runaway inflation... Involving players in actually running cargoes for actual important purpose, and thus creating the need for escorts, etc. That's a delicate balance.
Now given how they managed the flight model or even combat model (missiles *cough*) i have my doubts...

Whoo, the lady acting Senua really did some candywork. That was quite a good experience. Also: Best Hel interpretation I ever saw in a game.

Except I'm not asking for a game where all the 'simulations' work, nor am I asking for high-fidelity simulations of every gameplay aspect. What I'm saying is that niche gameplay styles like Star Citizen developers have banged the drum about since day one have relevance in an MMO environment and shouldn't be discounted because some individuals don't like it, particularly with a pitch such as the space games seem to generally offer.

For example, WWII Online is in no way a Maritime Warfare simulation, but still allows for players to command/crew WWII MTBs, DDs and freighters.

"Murrrgh.. this is land war and air only they shouldn't focus on that element!" would cry the main target market of army and fighter jocks.

Right up until they needed a decent crew to transport a load of tanks across from mainland Europe to a tactically crucial island, which because as the Kriegsmarine playerbase was mostly older, bolder and more teamwork orientated sorts than their allied counterparts lead to us regularly dominating an interesting gameplay experience that focused on all three arms of warfare, with the Navy playerbase providing the freighters and naval protection, the air wings fighting to maintain air superiority or attacking the invasion force and infanteers/army types taking or defending the overall objective, logistics teams running around setting up spawns and supplying both forces in the field, all while high command players shoved resources and assets into a crucial battle that usually lasted hours and provided a good interesting experience for all involved.

ME:A comparisons in any respect are hilarious, especially seeing that it was (essentially) thrown together in 18 months after years of nightmare development failure and there's actually a good game trying to get out. Failing to get out, sure, but at least it's there.

Oh and people weren't paying hundreds of bucks in 2010 for it either.

That face rig thing is a bit Aphex Twin isn’t it. Funny and yet terrifying.
