Crashing issue at Chelomey Orbital in Cubeo

Hi. Recently, say within the last six months, I had moved to Chelomey Orbital in the Cubeo system. I'd been located in Cubeo for quite some time but decided to set up shop there since that's where the navy docks are, nice to view. Never had an issue landing or taking off from that location.

Since two months back, I had started having crashing issues with that base. It would happen as I was landing (seconds from hitting the pad) or going through the toaster rack. I would also start having crash issues just sitting on the pad looking at the commodities or missions. It got to the point where this would happen just sitting in the hanger.

In each case there were lots and lots of NPC traffic as well as a minimum of 1-5 human players (it varies). I tried going back to Medupe and later Weaver Vision and no crash issues at all.

Crash involves the game simply freezing up, eventually the crash report comes up, I fill it in with what I was doing and off it goes but the problem persists only at Chelomey Orbital and no other station in Cubeo.

Specs not handy off the top of my head but here's the current build:
    http://eldorf.tripod.com/newpc/
That's all the piece parts inside.
    Using the current Nvidia drivers.
    Windows 7 Home Professional.

As long as I avoid Chelomey I don't have a problem so my guess is that there's an issue with maybe too much stuff in that area.

    Hi,

Sorry to hear that about the crash.
Did you experience a lot crashes at the site before or only happened recently?
Get a dxdiag log from your PC and give us a ticket: https://support.frontier.co.uk/topic.php
We could then look into your crash report and see what did it tell us.

This situation started happening a few weeks before the last update. As stated above, it only happens at Chelomey. Does not appear to be related to Open or Solo mode. The other two major stations do not seem to have this issue. The one common element at Chelomey that isn't anywhere else is a huge amount of NPC traffic (so much so that it's hard to see through them on the radar). Also noticed that once in a while the dry dock appears a few seconds later after arrival and once in a while it forgets to show up at all (rare but it happens).

This is the first time submitting a bug report. I've got the dxdiag file saved in a temporary folder on my PC but didn't see a way to upload it on the ticket form. I have moved everything to Weaver Vision as of two weeks ago out of frustration and have had no crashes since then. Let me know if needed and I'll head back there and have it crash again if you need more info.

    update:

I did forget to mention that I did send in several crash reports.
I don't know if it has my account associated with them.

    Hello,

    Thanks for that.

You seems submitted a bug report not a ticket. A ticket is a direct message to our Support team.
But your bug report will still be useful.

If you can give us a ticket, we might be able to help you from there.

Will do. I'll head back to Chelomey later and have the event happen again.

BTW, I had submitted crash reports (I assume someone here gets them). On each of them I've indicated "Chelomey" in the "what where you doing when it crashed" dialog. Not sure if it provides my log-in name or not. There should be several of them from me if it DOES give my log-in name. Would those be helpful as well?

UPDATE: I believe I did it correctly but you might have two of them. I didn't get a ticket number so I wasn't sure if it went through.

OMG,...I just spent I don't know how many sessions trying to use Chelomey. I can't count the number of bug/crash reports have been sent to FD.
Sorry you are experiencing this. Going to try and escape that place and hope the VR gets stable somewhere else. Ohhhhh Joy

They say sharing is caring so this is in addition to another thread about the instance at Chelomey. In my case I sent the bug reports and commentary direct to Frontier. I was hoping this was just Chelomey but I moved my boat to home port Oleary on the other side of the bubble. Low security and no POI. Two additional bug reports and commentary sent to Frontier for the crashes there while in outfitting.
Thinking about uninstalling the entire game and doing a full install.
Begs to ask the question" Is anyone readying these crash reports"?

I can confirm that I've been experiencing this issue since 3.1. I've seen several pilots across multiple Aisling Duval player groups also complaining about this same issue. Since 3.1 we have experienced a relatively high rate of crashes at Chelomey Orbital in Cubeo. There is a Military Installment located right outside of the station, so that may be part of what's causing the issue.

I am having the same problem at Chelomey Orbital since we went to 3.1. This has been my home base for the past couple of years and no problems previously. I commented on a Bug Report (Game Keeps Crashing) recently and QA-JACK from the Frontier QA Team passed on some information with what to do and send in the network log file.
Please see original post:- Next time this happens we should all send in our relevant 'netlog' file along with the crash report.

Same thing here. But in my case, it became more frequently after the last update. And what makes more interesting is that sometimes I play over two hours and nothing happens. Then sometimes it freezes within one or two seconds after the ships appears in the dock.

If you didn't receive a ticket number it probably hasn't been successful. You should be able to log in again and go to 'My Tickets' then you should be able to see any tickets you've managed to submit.

Regarding the crash reports, these will be sent directly to our QA team who are currently investigating this issue, if you have indicated it's around Chelomey when you crashed, that should be enough for them.

My failure to get the ticket to go through properly shows how often I've had to file a ticket.

Just a follow-up, though. Stopped at Chelomey to see if the crashes still happen. Dry dock is still there but noted a lot fewer NPC's in the area. No crash. I'll be doing a few more runs for beer (they need beer at Weaver Vision!!) so I'll have plenty of opportunities to see if the "fewer NPC's" might have done the trick.

On the Xbox I haven't experienced any crashes, however I have noticed the considerable sluggish nature of the gameplay since the additional Majestic Class Interdictor battlecruisers have been included - I can't recall any issues when there were two. They are impressive to look at though.

Edit: After visiting this morning I see that the four capital ships have now become two again.

Update: Made 4 back/forth runs between Weaver and Chelomey, had a crash on the 4th run, on the pad turning around ready to leave Chelomey, 14:37 game time. Crash report submitted.

Total of 8 runs to Chelomey this morning, just the one crash noted above. There WERE a larger number of NPC's on that crash. The dry dock does look like it was moved so it's no longer in line with the mail slot.

    Hello Leadfoot,

Please do submit a ticket to us with your Netlog and Netalyzr report if possible.

We will need to see the crash report that you submitted to us as well. Please leave the most accurate detail while opening the ticket to help us to find your crash report.

I'm hitting the same problem I was hitting earlier, filled in the report, uploaded the netlog / netalyzr report (that's new, thanks) and the DxDiag as well, clicked "submit ticket" and it takes me back to "submit a ticket" but no ticket number provided. I'm using IE-11.

Switched to Firefox, filled it in again with those three files and same problem - no ticket number provided.

Tried twice. Capcha verified, no ticket number.

BTW, where would I find the crash report on my end?
Addendum: Tried (using Firefox) to submit just a text-based ticket saying I can't get a ticket number (no files attached, etc), same issue - can't get a ticket number.

    --------

And just tried twice more a few minutes ago (9:00 pm EST US). Lets me log in, clicked "submit a ticket", filled everything in, attached files, did the picture thing, not a robot, did "submit the ticket" button and goes right back to "submit a ticket". Checking "my tickets" gives a form to submit a ticket. No listing of any of the attempts made to submit a ticket. Just a tad frustrated.

    Any suggestions?
