Thread: Update 3.1.2

  1. #316
Guys, transport missions were nerfed, right?

  2. #317
Any update on the console crash that happens EVERY TIME you get 3 or more SRVs in one instance?

Hoping so, but the sad realization is that it's probably being ignored because hey - nerfing missions is easier than fixing a game breaking bug eh?

Can't wait to try out this new stuff.

    Sounds tantalising.

    So much to try out!

The idealists would most likely tend to support the hardcore players - anyway, you can't make everyone happy.

The decisive question is: what sort of mindset rules in FD's staff?
Given that we went from very low payouts to 'yo, why not earn the most expensive ship in an afternoon', I think the matter is kinda solved already. That FD wants people to earn a conda every afternoon, rather than every hour, is hardly a casual vs hardcore divide.

And I raced back from the black to see what was what regarding missions. Mission rewards are so badly NERFED it was a bad mistake to race back. I mean come on Frontier stop fixing what is not broken. Instead please put your efforts into fixing the many many bugs in the game. Stop nerfing the payouts. Kill pirate lord wing missions went from 3.5M CR to less than 2M CR. Not only these are a waste of time to take, pick up x amount of y and bring it to us don't exist anymore. These were fun when getting interdicted by 4 Anacondas who wanted 27 Units of tea.

Fix what is reported as BROKEN and stop with swinging the sodding NERF bat!

I am happy to see Frontier addressing issues that have cropped up with 3.1, but I am also glad to see the community demanding that Frontier finally address the ever growing list of core gameplay bugs that Frontier has been happily turning a blind eye towards for far too many months. I love this game and greatly appreciate the work Frontier puts into it. But I think it is time that Frontier stops the nonsense and starts addressing the various bugs, glitches and gameplay inconsistencies that plague ED. Isn't that what Beyond was supposed to be about? Not just new toys but also polishing existing content? Well...I am still awaiting that polish.

Yep.... i'm still waiting aswell. And i'm afraid we're gonna be waiting for a loooong time....
Back in may, i decided to abandon the game until they fixed the npc powerplant bug..... I thought chapter 2 of Beyond would mark the time of my return, but i guess i was wrong.
I'll pop up again when chapter 3 drops...... who knows, maybe, if they're not too busy rebalacing the game's economy and adding new features, we might actually get some bugfixes... but to be honest, i'm not holding my breath

    3.1.2 is more buggy than 3.1.1 - system/station names gobbledeegook ?

LOl, I thought it was only my engineered charge enhanced power distributors that got nerfed. It would be nice to see a more detailed changelog.

Thanks for the heads up Will, thanks FD, keep up the good work.

    My patience is personally waning.

Do you guys program in stuff to troll players or something?

After killing ships in a res site for a few hours, i came accross this viper, (bear in mind they are only ever escorts or wanted)Nasty name on the ship, the thought it, i'll throw a plasma at it, it connected a second before the scan finished, lo and behold, this viper with an overly aggresive name was a MINER. Mining laser and everything.

Way to go FDev. Drop all consistency just to off the odd player here and there.

This last week has been laggy, full of DC's, mission board, trolly NPC's whos cursor evasion seems to have somehow gotten WORSE, Rando combat ships being miners in the RES sites despite having a bandity name, Cops killing one another for no good reason, engineering borks and more over when a patch is released it doesnt fix ANY of the above issues with the exception of the Cops not being trigger happy.

The thought of deleting my save is getting stronger everyday as at this point I feel obvious things that really arent hugely cost intensive (LIKE DEDICATED SERVERS FDEV) and or would'nt take a whole lot of time to fix are just being ignored whilst more vapid and unengaging content gets released.

Moreover on the server matter. P2P is not acceptable at this point. Especially if open only PP is being considered. Instancing and the servers need to be replaced and reset to work in at least a mildly effective way as opposed to 5 minutes of trying to hit reticules dancing 2 inch hops accross the screen, then being blue tubed for the better part of time it takes to make a cuppa tea.

Personally FDev are gonna have to work VERY hard on up and coming stuff too keep my interest. After a year of basically not playing anything else and reaching the "endgame" state, IE: PvP, It's bloody sad to have to say that i'm awful sick of being trolled in something I want to do to escape that mentality in everyday life.

To my great shame, no. As I resolved these issues locally, I decided (perhaps wrongly) not to burden what must be an overworked support team with something I'd already fixed; however I thought it worth a mention on the forums on the asumption that the devs still read these things, as well as perhaps sparking an idea or two for people with similar peoblems.

I figured out the reason behind the money nerf, from Newsletter 235:

    SEARCH FOR LOTTERY WINNER

An appeal has been launched to find the owner of a lottery ticket worth one billion credits. The annual Galactic Jackpot is by far the most popular lottery game, but on this occasion the winner has yet to make a claim. Purchase of the winning ticket has been confirmed, but no data is available as to who bought the ticket or when.

It seems they need to fund the lottery winner in a future patch, so all of the profits are going towards the winning ticket!
