Helping people should lead to a ban? and abuse from those setting up the event?

Ah, playing the innocent angel card I see. Sorry, all I see is a dirty used napkin with boogers all over it

This thread is full of pleasantries.

If you are unhappy with your experience on the Fleetcomm Private Discord, you might consider making a Private Discord of your own, or perhaps chatting in solo. That way your safety is guaranteed.

I hope this suggestion is helpful.

Can't beat the camaraderie , bonhomie, and esprit de corps of a friendly group of explorers. Remind me again why i never sign up to a pan-galactic back stabbing competition?

At least it's *as bad as the discord admins on the server for the Salomé event, where they were trying to make it unwelcome for anybody armed, but not at approved by their vetting process... (threatening attack on anyone who hadn't. Fortunately, Drew intervened in that madness.)

Hmm, strangely enough, I can't remember any of the approved members involved in the vetting in that group...

Edit: it was meant to read "At least it's NOT as bad ".

"Fighter escort" helping people? Some good that did for Salome..

Yes i got attacked and sent to the rebuy screen on that one just for having a nose around . The problem in groups , is that someone always thinks they should be in charge. I think i might try and disorganise an exploration for anarchists, just 9000 players heading in different directions, far more productive.

Now that you mention it... Let's take a step back, and look at the whole picture. This is what you get when you do an event with the number of expected participants in the hundreds, maybe thousands. The vast majority of them strangers who don't know each other.
The Salomé comparison is very good, but there's a crucial point of difference: that was a one-off thing, while this expedition and FleetComm will go on for over a dozen more events, done weekly. (There's also that on that one, attackers had entirely legitimate reasons for being there, while here, it's just griefing.)

At the end of it all though, there's a reason we (not speaking for a group in particular, just I and those who said this) have been advising people to prepare for attackers and take defences on their ships: because no matter how many efforts the organisers might make, with so many strangers involved, the bomber griefer will always get through. However, some simple precautions on part of people can vastly increase their chances of survival.

    Nope, you said
any user in the discord or Private group
    . Stand by your words.

by "abuse" from the admins I am talking about being muted in voice when I am helping someone.
First of all, that's still within the rights of the admins so no "abuse" there, second of all, provide evidence for that, this is not the first time you guys try to antagonize somebody and I find it hard to believe that they muted you just as you were giving advice to somebody.

Pretty crappy if you ask me.

And they told me that if I have a problem with it, I can leave. The guy was legitimately in there helping people get ready for the expedition.
He was really helpful before the Salome event too, as I recall.

He has a history and he plays the long game. Caution is warranted.

So I can very well understand why they don't want you or your ilk in their PG.
    What goes around, comes around.
Nice cheap shot, Zieman. I'm a member of the first DWE and the 143rd CMDR under my old CMDR name Jarred Dumas to ever reach Beagle Point, before it became so cool. My personal "ilk" was in the Fleetcomm PG at each and every checkpoint gathering during the expedition and I lost count of how many times my ship was parked next to such exploration luminaries as Agony Aunt, Olivia, Dr. Kai and Erimus, just to name a few; good luck finding a credible example of my ever causing any of that community harm. You might not like the fact that I've also played a great deal of PvP, but you can't take away my Elite Explorer status, nor all of my first tagged from the bubble all the way to the other side of the galaxy and thousands upon thousands of points in between. I guess you could say that I'm an explorer...who knows how to defend himself.

Seems like a poor basis to be discriminated against, but oh well.

Meh, I (repeatedly) offered Salome a discreet lift to her destination in a fast ship (and let's face it, I can fly and she couldn't), but she would have her scene. Drama.
