Thargoid-targeted systems no longer showing as "infested" prior to incursion

    IP Protocol
    IPv4

    Date & Time of Occurrence
    Feb 8th, 2019 7:08 PM PST

    Frequency
    1

    VR?
    None / N/A

    Location
    Palanti

    Ship/SRV?
    N/A

    Ship Type

    Commander Name
    TheOriginal

    Description
When 3.3 was released, system that were targeted by the Thargoids (confirmed by Eagle Eye) would show as having an infested state, which would clear to a when we'd pushed the Thargoids out. That is no longer the case, and when systems in the Pleiades are targeted - which are full of Thargoids anyway - we have no way of knowing if it's a true infestation, if it's a "system of interest" by the Thargoids, or if it's a bug.

    Steps to Reproduce
    1) Decode Eagle Eye targets
    2) Visit systems
    3) Confirm presence of Thargoids
    4) Check system state
    5) Ponder that it no longer shows as "infested".

This week the Eagle Eye targets are:

    EE1 - Palanti
    EE2 - Ariatia
    EE3 - Pleiades Sector KC-V C2-4
    EE4 - Kareco
    EE5 - Ce Bootis
    EE6 - HIP 23395

None show as Infested in the Galmap, all have been reported to have NHSS

    Hey Cmdrs,

Thanks for your reports - I have passed this on to be looked into!

    Stay safe out there o7

This is still ongoing with the latest batch of Eagle Eye Targets:

    EE1 Celaeno
    EE2 Atlas
    EE3 Asterope
    EE4 Apishna
    EE5 GQ Virginis
    EE6 HIP 24046

We would like to emphasize how hard & stressful this makes defense of a system in attempts to prevent Incursion state because we have no idea if we've successfully defended the systems or not.

This had been working prior and we had established a spreadsheet of systems in The Pleiades based area (Operation IDA & Pleaides Neighbors territory) to do system sweeps which allowed us to be proactive.

    As an example:
A few weeks back we had 2 weeks in a row of Pleiades infested systems: Celaeno, Atlas, Pleione & Pleiades Sector HR-W d1-41, we were able to mouse over the system in Galmap and indeed see that they were infested. We defended each system with our neighbors (keeping a spreadsheet of all kills) and could see the next day or so if we had been successful by again mousing over the system which would now show the system as no longer being infested allowing us to move on to the next system.

Now, we're trapped into waiting until the next week to see if our efforts were successful or not. It's especially troublesome when multiple systems are infested with no indicator other then the Eagle Eye network pointing to them as targets.

In addition, this past week, Eagle Eye 3 which had pointed to Pleiades Sector KC-V c2-4 suddenly switched targets a day or so before to a new target of Veja Deng which is now in incursion state.

Any assistance to fix these issues would be incredibly appreciated.

Please look into this bug, ever since it has started all Infested stations have been damaged because we are fighting blind!

If this is working as intended i donīt see any future for this game - Bubble will be burning within just a few weeks.

I have never before seen the levels of cooperation and coordination we acheived in the previous week. Five player groups from five discords worked together to gather 40+ pilots and log, as in logbook, 7000 thargoid scout killis and 100 thargoid interceptor kills in two of the six systems that Eagle Eye was pointing to. Because our time is limited we ONLY contribuited 150-350 man-hours in a weeks time. We, the five player factions, strongly believed that such amazing effort focused onto only two systems would give us a high chance of clearing the infested systems but now we see those systems burn. Those 7000 kills are from just the people we are in contact with the kills of the general community are not included in it.

We are missing the "this system is infested" notifier which accomplished the following:
    • It rallys the general public to take part in defence.
    • It allows defending players to see the fruits of their labor, which increases fun.
    • It allows defending players to take part in the developing story
    • It prevents players from feeling helpless/useless.
    • It prevents player burnout.

    1) Infestation is broken. It doesn't show in the galaxy map. This has been reported. No-one has a clue when we've killed enough thargoids to stop an infestation.

Collectively we have reports between several large groups hunting thargoid scouts which show Celaeno had around 7000 scouts killed. 7000. What an effort. Amazing. But it hasn't had an effect and the system went into incursion today. Ouch.

    2) Incursion is clearly broken too. Eagle Eye report came out yesterday (it's usually reporting every thursday) It showed 6 new targets.

4 of those are in incursion today. 1 day has passed! Jesus christ guys.
All of the targets threatened last week (6) of them are in incursion.

Please stop the simulation and sort it out. This is clearly bugged. We've taken a year to repair the same amount of stations you have wiped out in a week.

    Thanks.

This is painful, we at Operation IDA have been repairing stations for over a year and so much of our work has now been undone. The repairs go on...

I like to add this is causing a lot of issues from having to keep going and people are just NOT getting any relief at all, having to constantly keep hauling and fighting so much people are going to out right burn out. Even when other groups gets involved it is making it harder than ever to keep a pace, and with one person reporting it took a month to repair a station only for it to be attacked again, making that effort a let down.

  12. #12
Giving a +1 to this issue.

  13. #13
This is extremely embarrassing. Thargoids are supposedly the biggest part of 3.x season but also the most bugged one. Unless these (and many more) issues are fixed, not many will be buying your next "paid content", whatever it will be.

  14. #14
    Likewise, +1

please respect our time, if possible

    thank you and best wishes

Edit: also the AX CZs sometimes stay stuck in Scouts only mode and do not advance to Interceptor.

Please at least fix the lack of flagging for the infestation state.
