I set this cat amongst the 64bit pigeons!
It's only a fraction of the game... Plus, when it comes to dogfighting, all those 32bit cats are going to fail to catch us 64bit pigeons, and may find themselves stuck up a tree with the 8bit dog barking at them from below.

Ah, in that case, you are welcome to gift it to me. I have some old cards that I can gift to you in return.

Well, the laptop's out of the window for E : D which I suspected. So it'll be the Desktop or a new PC for me.

If you want to know what cards are DirectX 11 compatible, there's a list here

    My specs are as follows:

    • Direct X 11
    • Intel Core i7 - 8 cores @ 2.2 Ghz 64bit CPU
    • 8 Gb RAM
    • Nvidia GT-635M GPU

So I think I got enough. The only weak spot is my GPU but I think its enough.

    Hi Michael,

A GTX 285 is actually not a badly powered GPU - for a DX10 card it still pulls its weight.

I wonder if a similar powered card will do but with 1gb of mem on board?

What monitor resolution did you test the game on? 1920x1080?

if anyone is gaming on a laptop for the first time, beware the extra heat that will be generated by running games compared to "normal" usage.

Damn I wish I was in alpha now .. My system is generally above those min specs, I was able to run the Witcher 2 on high without the HDR on, and games like F1-2013 and Batman Arkham origins run on high too so I hope I'll be ok for the Betas

To play the first build released in December we're currently looking at the following:

    Direct X 11
    Quad Core CPU ( 4 x 2Ghz is a reasonable minimum)
2 GB System Ram (more is always better)
DX 10 hardware GPU (my reasonably low end machine has a GTX 285 with 2GB)

Excellent! You just made my day!

    DX 11.1
    4x2.3GHz
    6GB
    560Ti 1GB

Will a 1GB GPU be enough? Any word on the HDD space required too?

Yes, I recommend getting a usb cooling stand with fans. Otherwise expect cooked legs!

Bear in mind that the card needs to have hardware DX10 support as well as being DX11 compatible.

As I say we're looking to try and reduce the spec if possible through detail options and optimisations, so the final min spec for the game should be lower than that stated above, but for the initial alpha tests you'll need to be in that range.

    Michael
The minimum specs look ok to me but two questions you haven't answered
1: What OS will we need to be running Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP ?
2: Will the Alpha build be in 64 bit only, both or just 32 bit ?

    Fighting for the bad guy

    Thanks Michael.

I have to say they are ... very low requirements.

Presumably you have the game running on a high end machine in your lab too ? What difference does it make to the game ? Is it worth pumping for a high end machine and crank the settings up or is the only real difference resolution ?
