Thread: Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

    Hi

    Wanted to help out with this project but as noted with the 9% thing not much will happen for the moment.
    So when i manage to make my way to the Mikunn system and start building up my rep with the Dukes, i did notice one time i was docking for some resupply that the station was 56% hull and about 23% shield.

    This made me think off 2 points.

    1. Someone or some faction (Player or NPC?) is attacking the outpost want to ruin everything. Or the station was doing an upgrade???

    2. Maby if we get a large force we could maby "Liberate" one of the outpost in the HR 7327 system and could that be a placeholder for Dukes to build an outpost on?!

    Still new to the game so i could be wrong, but who knows.

    Seems the dukes have added system defese forces now ( the system authority vessels were arleady there) its the first time ive seen the defense forces though, could this be the result of another time tick of expansion for the dukes. It was in pending status about 8 hours ago and now its gone, but now we have this upgrade to their military forces ( so perhaps change does take longer but is occouring in the background simulator as we have been noticing) ie increased duke traffic, ship upgrades, now military upgrades, duke forces in HR now at the trading stations.

    I say we keep at it. Perhaps these events take time to play out. Could still be bugged in HR, but it is taking time in durius for change to happen. Just some new thoughts without spamming the thread, im about to do a whole load of missions to see if i can push something on the next time tick

    Maxin madar as far as the outpost being damaged im not sure, saw some damage on it solo mode yesterday but when i jumped out and back in it was fully repped so it could just be a small bug of sorts

    What counts as "essential goods"? i.e. is there a definitive list or is it based on what is "accepted" at particular stations?

    lol just found a wedding barge with escort in HR 7327 from the dukes! Maybe they are finally settling down

    I've made a start on doing the same thing. I can send you the small amount of data I've collected to date on a spreadsheet if you want it?

    Thats probably me as well, currently missions for imports of goods where i can buy them locally from kwatee / sukra. Fetch military plans /rebel transmissions / black boxes / prototype technology
    Propanganda missions against the federation faction in sukra

    Those are the ones im focusing on, generally its influence up for dukes , economic boom up bust down / and civil unrest down ( but in mikunn only )

    Exports of scrap missions into sukra is another one i do infreuqently

    The timer in HR keeps pushing towards civil unrest - which would be local popuplations being restless and rebellious - a prelude to civil war
    Lockdown on the other hands is the dominant faction putting ships out to suppress the dukes activity at key points in the system

    I have an idea those hunting in HR perhaps consider in mikunn anaylizing the fsd signatures of npcs and following them to see where they go ( into HR maybe escort them around) or the npc ships around HR station belonging to HY Dynamics and the law society - following those npc ships to whever they go and then well blow them up. Focusing on traders , disrupting the wealth and trade flow of the dominant faction - then running propaganda missions and trade missions from mikunn into HR ( taking advantage of the dominant factions being able to trade - the dukes start to fill the void at the stations and gain influence that way) its bigger picture stuff and we still have so many variable factors ( economic, population and wealth disparity between the dukes and HR)

    If we wanted to get the dukes control of a station in HR it would double their clout almost straight off the bat. How would we do that, propaganda, and those missions where they are spreading their business influence. Hunt the trader ships out of the outpost we are wanting to take by killing the npcs belonging to anything that isnt the dukes. This doesnt address the checkpoints but we might be able to get a station with lockdown in effect. By cutting off access to all except for the dukes. Other traders might flip to the dukes as well.

    All rehashed thinking from me but put in another thought train. A mix of trade, covert ops, overt combt support and feeding rebellions , making sure free trade flows to mikunn ( lithium, mineral extractors, biolichen and HE suits the last 2 dont seem to be getting traded into the dukes but are worth a lot) the lack of a nearby agriculatural world is hurting us on food imports.

    Seeking goods sites in HR if u see a dukes trader there try to trade to them only and not the HR dynamics and law society traders.

    Now wedding barges that could relate to population expansion ( pure speculation) perhaps hunt the ones again belonging to all except the dukes

    We have the impression that the missions have an negating effect on each other. Some make unrest up some down. Some cause famine up others lower it ... my guess the best way to harm is no lockdown, civil unrest up and famine down (starvation)

    Maybe to get civil war:

    a.) Lower Lockdown - so civilwar can spread free
    b.) raise lockdown? maybe not
    c.)???

    The dukes have had the occasional system defense force for a while. This isnt new.

    We don't know if you capture stations individually by doing specific missions at each one or if its just captured by general influence gain throughout that system.

    I need to confirm that bought BATTLE WEAPONS can be sold at Mikunn!

    Acutally in the system notes it states that illegal are:

    Combat Stabilisers
    Narcotics
    Battleweapons
    Slaves
    Toxic Waste

    so it only influences the Authroity scans?

    * all of those items are requested in some missions in mikunn , so best is to take the missions as they come up and then go retreive them.
    * You cant sell them on the market and no black market, as above dukes request them for missions
    * once youre allied with the dukes its rare for them to scan u, and the station there is an outpost with no sys auth ships at the station ( so its only in USS sites and those are rare and the occasional interdiction but its very rare)

    I was listening to LaveRadio last night and they mention that there's a bug with DISPLAYING the actual status percentages. I think LIU is on to something as we're doing a bunch of things in HR from pirating, actual auth hunting, courier and we may be raising and lowering their lockdown, civil world, famine stats. There was also mentions of new space station being built but that requires, and I quote one of the hosts, the leading faction having TRILLIONS of Credits.

    Any news from the devs?

    Yeah it would seem all the hidden stats including the credit value of the factions. Including the dukes might be another factor in all the background stuff.
    So how could we help the dukes get richer kill their enemies, run their trade missions, buy and sell from theri station ( again perhaps pricey items being taken out and rich stuff being brought in might have a bigger effect but will require time)

    Im now considering after watching the sys auth of the dukes in mikunn shooting at the wanted ( green to us) but in USS theres pirates with bounties
    That is shooting all wanted dukes of mikunn ships in mikunn ( after seeing them shoot their own faction members both the local sys auth and dukes traders i consider them traitors) and am wondering what affect it might have on the economy and wealth of the system. Question is will it strengthen the dukes ore weaken them or a netural effect

    after you said so I wanted to test so. So i bought 1t of battle weapons in kwate and I was able to sell them at Spassky (though with a small loss)

    and that was in the regular commodities market
