I saw in one video a dev said they had seen rocky worlds up to eight time Earth size i think.
It's any world without an atmosphere - not just rocky.

How do you handle airless worlds that still has volcanism in the first release then?

Wonder who will be the first to drive a buggy around a earth size planet
And finally a good choise by the devs to set speed cap at 100mph on buggy. Seems realistic and fair. Only if ships would be faster than 1800km/h in normal space

    WooHoo!! Brilliant!

Yeah any planet without an atmosphere, landing on planets with atmospheres will cause a whole heap of new challenges so they are releasing atmosphere planets first to see how it goes while they figure out how entering an atmosphere will work ( think about there are many planets that don't have earth like atmospheres, some are very thick and others are barely a kilometre thick). I saw a large atmosphere-less world that was ten times the mass of the earth a few days ago, it had no atmosphere because it was insanely close to the star it orbits. Anyway, there are a lot of interesting planets and moons that we can potentially land on which don't have any atmosphere.

p.s. It is incorrect to call any planet "airless". Air is a mixture comprised of mostly nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide ( Earth atmosphere at sea level ). Many worlds with an atmosphere don't generally have " air ". It is more correct to say a planet has/ has not got an atmosphere.

I've been proven wrong by Michael himself. Good stuff. I'm happy I was wrong.

You could be proven right by knowing a little about astronomy. "Worlds" without an atmosphere rarely are sexier than rocky or icy.

its hard to have a planet with volcanism to not have an atmosphere

    Tell that to Io...

...or any of the millions of worlds in ED that has volcanism but no atmosphere.

Oh now that they've found the first ringworld, maybe FD have to add a few out there for us to discover too?

I got an impression volcanic planets will be later addition (regardless whether they have an atmosphere or not)...

in the live stream they say that we can land on 61% of all planets there are out there. im sooo looking forward to this!

An interesting propositions seeing how I have been by a water world WITHOUT an atmosphere. That should be a most interesting expedition back to it.

Wouldn't it be ice? Liquid water doesn't exist in vacuum.
