{What's on the TV}... A nice program about "how to cope with release day fever"

+1 funny!

I've been playing 1.4.01 for a couple of hours now, and I have to say GOOD JOB FDev!

There are still good payouts on smuggling missions to be had, and whilst interdiction/evasion is tougher, it's not as impossible as it was (for me) in 1.4.

Nice one, and thanks!!!

Can't wait for 1.5/Horizons... :D

Mining bug seems to have been resolved , ish.

As in no crash to menu for me, but now have to babysit the refinery a bit. It seems a lot less babysitting than in 1.3, but still occasionally having to click the fragment %

Not ideal, but much better than crashing

No TrackIR fix either...

Me reloacting the installation path of TrackIR is not a fix, it's me fixing a created problem that didn't exist before.
If any other game can work with TrackIR placed in a location of my choice, i don't see any reason why ED can't have that now anymore. It used to work...

My word they've gone OTT on the lens flare in xbox! Was dazzled by a sun (which look prettier by the way!). Nit happy that they've stuck a load of lights on the inside of the DBX though :(

There's a lot of armchair developers out tonight! Nobody ever gets to fix all the bugs before working on new features. Take some good organic onionhead and relax. Trading is not broken, just the stats reporting of it is. If the stats are not being updated server side, FD can always update them from their trade transaction logs.

I made a game EXACTLY like this, only it was twice the size and had more to do. Everybody in the world plays it and there are no bugs. I now have so much spare time I took up hobbies. I solved world hunger, negotiated a lasting peace between cats and dogs and saved over 9000 orphans form various fires. I united the various religions and made disease a memory.

It was easy.

A PC reboot and a different ED server and it is working again. But still missing 1.2 million in stats. (Note to self check after every future upgrade, maybe even re-boot)

Improvements to interdictions YaY i can keep 3 yellow rings while the blue bar fills up and I fail the interdiction in 5 seconds it's awesomely not fixed 2015-10-21_17-38-27.jpg

Interdicting might be slightly easier, or I might be imagining it. In any case it's still too time consuming, tedious, and difficult. Being interdicted: this still happens repeatedly and relentlessly, interfering with any attempt to do anything else (including going from A to B). It remains at least an order of magnitude too frequent. And it's still impossible to escape from an NPC interdiction. Do FD really want us to stop playing? Is this whole project meant to fail as some kind of tax loss scam?

can't someone fix those UI issues implemented with 1.4?

like the "Back" button on galactic map, gal-new or powerplay interface often puts you back to somewhere you haven't been before...

is that even a known bug?

I just played for a bit to try out interdictions, and I agree with you, interdicting is tougher, but not as impossible as before.

I did six interdictions, and failed two. I find it hard to see the effect that the ship size or rank of the NPC are supposed to have, with the exception of an Elite FDS, which I truly believe I should have won, as I really did have my reticule on target / hard white, and still his bar kept rising, he was obviously on his mark too, and that made sense with him being Elite and all. ;)

I still find the mini game to be a bit jerky at times, but not as bad as before, and I think they have eased up on when the reticule is considered to be 'on', at least it feels that way. A couple of the interdictions ended abruptly, but they were both in my favor, and not sure I really understand why that happens.

My overall impression is still that I don't understand why FD would make a game mechanic so punishing (and that's the best word I can use to describe it) when the alternative to it, flying around aimlessly in SC waiting for and then dropping into random signal sources hoping to find your target there is such a weak one. <shrug> And punishing it is, my two failed interdictions resulted in over 10,000 credits repairs, and I was even taking damage of close to a 1000 credits for each won interdiction. It's trivial in terms of credits available in the game, but still potentially puts people off using the mechanic.

So it's not the same for you as for me. For me interdictions (as in NPCs trying do interdict me) are totally erratic with no rhyme or reason to them. Sometimes I can evade and don't know why, and sometimes I'm being interdicted and don't know why. It's totally random with skill not factoring into it.

I was just in game and ran into some strange issues... I was straight in with the escape vector holding it tight for about ten seconds and literally watched as my blue bars dropped and the red bars went up. Nothing I could do to evade it even though I was doing everything perfectly to evade it.

to DDF level by the explicit promise of 'near God-like powers'. Here we are nearly a year after release, and not only is there no sign of them, but FD have stopped even talking about them.

Not surprising. Can't believe they even would have offered that. Giving random players (even backers) god like powers would be an insane move. Either there was a misunderstanding or they were smoking some good stuff when they wrote that.

What fix? my refinery does nto assign empty bins anymore, it's more broken for me than before.

Read somewhere earlier. Empty and existing bins and try again. Might fix it.

Seems like Frontier needs some testers... Create a private server with the new builds and pay users X mill a week if they put in X amount of hours. I'm sure you'd get a lot of assistance from the community.

Hey guys,

New Mission Templates is confirmation of the earlier server side change to make Long Range Smuggling missions rarer – Sandy’s post here :- https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=193353. This is something we’re balancing continuously.

Zac

So, I got in game for two hours today so far and bumped around the bubble hitting various stations in the systems around LTT 15574. Not a single smuggling mission anywhere. Lots of straight cargo transports and courier missions, but out of all the stops I made at various stations there was not one single smuggling mission available, and non that appeared on the unattainable list either. I totally get the need to revamp what was happening in the systems outside the bubble with the huge payouts, but come on, hurry up and make the needed tweaks to at least get smuggling missions back to what they were in 1.3... The need to play a scoundrel type with a heart of gold is much needed for me in regards to my game time... :)

Check your throttle in that screen. Both your ships speed and your throttle are way below the blue zone (colors reversed... yellow zone?). This alone would be cause for failure. You are also in a Python trying to nab an Elite Viper. All of the cards are stacked against you in this one.

Now if you have a video of this please provide to show how you were actually centered in the rings for more than a single frame. I am not saying you weren't, I am just saying that a single picture doesn't tell us much about the evolution of an interdiction battle.
