Two of the hottest threads on the forums, a month old and still getting daily posts are being ignored. Why?

Very good question, its probably just too embarrassing for FD to answer some of these questions. for example why is the faulty cockpit graphic in the anaconda not fixed can it really be that hard or why is the 10cr thing still there.
i for one would love to understand why such comparatively simple thing are not dealt with swiftly, maybe there still scratching there heads trying to figure it out or is it just beyond them.
As for the interdiction well that's a just a dogs breakfast, but i found a fix for myself anyway 1. buy an anaconda set up for cargo. 2. fit 8 turrets 3. wish for more interdiction's. Im not sure if the NPCs are talking to each other but i don't get interdicted anymore. on a positive note the bobble heads are going well no faults found.

PS Credit where credit is due, the turrets are working very well.

Perhaps FD responds when they have the solution ?

:)

That is my point pat, the cockpit fault is a year old if the problem is that they cant find a solution then that would be very embarrassing i can understand why FD would not want to talk about it.

Its called the (Too hard basket) and its embarrassing for pro developers to talk about.

On the other hand i could be completely wrong and would welcome correction from someone that knows what there talking about FDev comment would be more than welcome the silence on certain things has been defining. leading to this kind of conjecture.

Couple of things,
The program is obviously written in an object oriented language.
There is always a turnover of programmers as they follow their stars - good games programmers don't grow in the hedgerow.
Tracking down problems like the cr10 repair (which doesn't take any money (hint to where the problem might lie)) are horrible to find if hidden deep inside some object what was written/modified (and not documented) by a long gone junior pgmr.
The beauty of Open Source Software is that people like me (retired programmer) enjoy poking round looking for bugs like that, where time is no real object (except getting bored & wandering off ;) ).

I must admit that EDdev should realy think about having one (or more if there are already >0) dedicated 'little but highly visible niggle fixers'

Oh, thanks God! The bobbleheads are going well! I was starting to be a bit desperate but hope is not lost, the bobbleheads are there!

Wait, wait.. I went out exploring shortly after 1.4 came out thinking that annoying 10cr bug would surely be fixed soon - certainly be the time I get back. That minor bug is still there after over three weeks? Facepalm..

FD is really a developer of stark contrasts - on one hand they can produce a game of this magnitude, one I've sunk countless hours in.. on the other, they can be so unprofessional at times it just boggles the mind. Expansions, extra ships, planetary landing, it's all great stuff, but when they take forever to fix bugs that shouldn't have survived beta int he first place.. yeah. They're can be a bit like an OCD child who always goes for the next shiny thing that interests him, and never finishes what he's currently doing. They can certainly produce impressive stuff, but I really wish they could focus a little bit better and fix the minor stuff in a prompt and professional manner.

And when your entire player base is wondering "working as intended or bugged?" on the interdictions, it's not a good sign.

The OCD child is a very apposite description... .

Nice sum up. I think the problem with Frontier is that they are understaffed. I would wager that most if not all their devs are working on 1.5 and Horizons exclusively. They know about the bugs, they just ignore them to meet their deadline.

If they're not understaffed, then it's a management problem. You just can't throw more devs at doing something without additional fine management. The more people you add to the project, the more management you exponentially need to do.

Until you end up with all chiefs and no injuins - standard progression, anyone with any skill has long left to pastures Green..
And you left with a Lizard tail thrashing away as it is consumed by the short sighted.
Oh sorry no Poly-Ticks.
Mijk ;}

I'm out exploring have been since the interdiction got messed up.
Sounds like a goood Idea - mind you I'm surprised by the different routes chosen by the automatic router depending on what my current mass is on a 10 hop trip too and fro.

Probably close to the truth i imagine, well with 1.5 being the next release and being all about ships, new ships, seems like an ideal opportunity to fix the anacondas cockpit fault, if not i think ill resign myself to the fact that it will never be sorted. speaking for myself this will take elite out of the class of its own category and into the almost typical mmo (i use this term loosely) category. Being a mostly positive person my message for Fdev is don't give up you can do it.

I really hope there will be an update today to fix some of these bugs. The hopper getting stuck is a real painite in my butt. :)

The hopper getting stuck?

I noticed while mining last night the game constantly complaining of the cargo bay being closed (when it's already open), and then a second later without me doing anything, all be OK again. It's seemingly when a limpet is at the cargo bay, and another one wants to use it? Very messy!

I've had no problems in my Asp, if I do a couple of hops with no scoop-able stars then I get the galaxy map out in star type mode and divert to the nearest scoop-able star system.
