Patch Notes Update 2.2.02 Update

- Target Body does not change after scanning the first beacon of a PassengerSightseeing mission that has multiple destinations

Just finished a 3 stage mission and the Target Body updated at each stage, which is good.

So do I get this right:

* Passenger missions will still sometimes lie about them being legal (omitting the "this person is a criminal" line).
* When they do show you that line, it explains the consequences better now.
* When the passenger is wanted in the local jurisdiction, it shows this in the same place in the HUD where it would show "Wanted", "Speeding", "Illicit cargo" etc. for yourself. If they are only wanted at the destination and the mission lied about it, you will only find this out once you arrive there.
* Stations won't attack you for being found with a criminal passenger, but police ships will.

All of that sounds reasonable except for the first point. It's a bit as if a "transport this tea to station X" mission randomly decided that the tea is actually me, Dio drugs that are illegal at the destination, and if you don't want to, for whatever reason, be complicit in the act, (for example you don't have a ship well-equipped for the task; have fun getting into a starport unscanned in something as inconspicious as a Beluga) the only option is to abandon the mission before the police scan you - i.e. the moment you arrive in the vicinity of the destination starport/outpost/planetary port where they are (surprise!) wanted.

:(

That's pretty much it. Previously the missions have been ambiguous about whether someone is wanted or not. However, they say the passenger "might" be wanted in multiple systems. I'm not sure how the new mission text changes that.

I think SRV scanner was design change, not a bug. Ergo, it won't be changed ASAP.

What change? The wave scanner has been randomly losing visuals and/or audio, since, like, forever. You drive towards a signal, suddenly no sound, or no lines, or nothing at all. Drive a bit more and something may or may return, possibly just a tiny fragment of the whole signal.

Thanks for the Update.

Could you please advise when a fix will be in place for the Background Sim. 2.2 has reverted the BGS to the same kind of madness that powperplay undermining created when first introduced.

See here for reference.

The longer this continues the fewer players will engage in the BGS - as you know this element of gameplay is critical to the longevity of the game and the purpose of many player groups.

Thanks

Schlack.

I don't understand this; I thought they just made it more obvious and passengers don't (potentially) lie so people know if the destination LZ will be hot, before they arrive.

Instead, Frontier have successfully made it more confusing. I have no idea how this is supposed to work now? [up]

no, now sometimes you see absolutely NOTHING on the wave scanner, like at all. Instead you just hear the sounds and have to try to navigate by that.

OK, time to sell my passenger modules I guess. It was nice while it lasted. Not worthwhile anymore (although I agree there were some missions that were paying too much before now it's nerfed to sillyness)

And my ship has developed parkinson's disease in super cruise they wouldn't have liked the shaking anyway.

Please don't take this as complaining, I'm not. Thanks for the update :)

Use Windows Explorer to browse to the file location; delete the offending file (and any ".part" files associated); press upgrade again - repeat as necessary.

Out of interest, are you running Raptr? It seems to have been the cause of my previous upgrade problems.

Tried to turn antivirus off as per their instructions, no change. The offending file changes each time, I would have to manually delete each file after a 5 minute download wait?? Or should I just delete all the files in that folder? I do not know what Raptr is... so I probably don't have it! :)

But thanks for trying...

so despite these 2 post by Mitch at QA, biotechs seem to have been ignored and we are still stuck with an abundance of these appearing as mission rewards......

Hey Cmdrs,

Sorry for the frustration with this issue.

We are aware of this and currently looking into getting it fixed.

Just delete the file stated in the error report.

Thank you - but even without deleting it, each time it's a different file that comes up with an error report...!!?

Yes, the update process is getting stuck at different points later in the list of files to be updated - persevere and you should (finally) get a complete update.

The strange thing is, it seems to randomly pick files... even without me deleting them! Could I just delete all the files in the "ITEM" folder?
