Patch Notes Update 2.3 Beta, Update 2.1

Just another half-baked MMO idea that will die rather quickly IMO.

yup. My interest in multi-crew is at about 0.5%

i'd have preferred just having npc crews. And maybe just MAYBE being able to launch 2 or 3 npc fighters so they can ACTUALLY have any !%&$*#& use.

the promises of what season3 is set to bring into the game better be significantly gamechanging if i'm to be expected to buy it.

Looking back on the updates past horizons i see nothing that has been of any interest to me it turned out. Crafting is terrible and i have not touched it at all. Ship launched fighter got me on my last (ongoing) "ragequit" because i bought a gunship for nothing because turns out there is ZERO benefit to launching ships.

Multi crew sounds and looks pointless and boring (i can control a pip, or pew pew in a turret OR fly a completely ridiculously useless fighter..sounds amazing), only thing that has any sort of value is the camera suite and the character creator but ultimately of course this is just a shallow improvement as it changes nothing in the actual playing experience.

No focus at all has been put towards improving the planetary experience. It's still shallow as hell once you get past the initial wow of the planet generation system and the scale. Attacking bases is mind numbingly boring. Harvesting rocks even worse. killing skimmers missions are easy as hell, planet salvage missions don't require you to actually look for anything and there is still ZERO content there for explorers. I mean that there is nothing you can find on a planet that will pay you exploration data.

Honestly the only good significant thing season 2 brought in my mind aside from planets is the bookmarking of systems and that should of course have been in the game on initial release.

Hey guys, spotted one thing - When you Find Crew or Join Another Ship - don't think you need Further Activities as drop down. Remove that line and just have all the activities available as is. Saves clicks, saves time, gives you a line back in the frame :-D

Thanks for the answer. Prob a month till full release then (I'm stating the obvious lol).

The last beta (2.2), was 6 weeks long. So if 2.3 beta as the same duration, 2.3 live should arrive in the week of the 3th of April.
But, considering the delay for the multi-crew feature, it is more likely to arrive in the week of the 10th April.

Only speculations again.

Imagine mulri-crew as the tip of the iceberg.
Is the kick-off for a string of new game mechanics
The opening of the door to the space walk, something that can not happen if you do not operate systems inside the spaceship that you can explore. I imagine the beginning of the Horizons couple as it is today.
Fdev has not disappointed me yet

I agree, the potential for MC is huge and people will fully realize this once 2.3 is out.

Love multi Crew it's a great way to meet new people and it's a load of fun. Not to mention a great way for new players to get wrapped up in the game and make some credits and quickly might I add.

Loving Multi crew so far, despite the constant connection issues.

Always takes several attempts and multiple fails to join a crew. I thought this was down to connection problems to start with but now think it's because everyone is trying to join the same five people actually running multi crew ships lol.

I set up a Fed Corvette with twin fighters and opened it to anyone to join. I was rarely without a full crew after that reinforcing my opinion about everyone else trying to join crews.
Great fun with a couple of fighter escorts. Really needs voice comms to work well though. I have a lot of friends who play Elite (but have no Beta access) and we're looking forward to full release to team up.

Honestly I think anyone who says multi crew was a waste of developement time just has no friends..which is sad.

Going to set up an Adder for gunner next, just for fun and to see how the gunner targeting copes with something more manouverable.

Great job FD..can't wait to try this in full game.

I think frontier will have to include more MC roles because there is an issue with smaller/medium ships.
Those without fighters and turrets, it makes the MC almost useless...
i mean, usually a cobra or even a python won't use any turrets, and they of course Don't have fighters, so what a crew member is supposed to do within that kind of ship ?

So i suggest other stuff should be included in every ship, like events !, Fire , air pressure issues, modules malfunction, electronic parts to change, those stuff would be events triggered at some situations and that every crew would have to handle .

And I think the ship owner should be able to give the control of the ship to a crew member if he wants to, his decision, his responsibility ...
And maybe having the possibility in that case to lock some of the controls as well if he gives the ship control to a crew member

2 days ago i joined a dropship without turrets... I left because i had nothing to do expect being a tourist and watching the stars while the commander was fighting

I agree. There hasn't been anything worth getting excited over since planetary landings. Sure the character creator tool is cool but we want more planetary stuff and space legs. Underwater cities different ports (they all have the same lower down and twist after docking... boring). Spice it up a bit FD.

You have to remember MC not avail in solo

Really all we have seen are more ways of doing the same boring things. Could help draw new commanders but old commanders are getting bored.

All Multi Crew bounty hunting sessions seem to end with your gunner shooting a clean target or police ship. (Probably due to the constant target switching beyond gunners control !) Making you the next target.

Trying this in something the size of an Adder is just a death sentence lol.

given that any 3D shooter is basicly the same thing with just different theme... whats your problem? should FDEV add wii-mote and kinect support for new things to do?
