2.3 dev update feedback mega thread

It would appear that it's already "solved", from Frontier's perspective - they have chosen option 1: "Accepting telepresence". :)

.... which has the advantage of not, in my opinion, breaking the whole game by introducing fast travel (as, when the telepresence session ends, the player is placed back in their own ship where they were before they signed on as crew).

However I hope that Frontier at some point will switch from telepresence to NPC. As I mentioned earlier it can be really interesting gameplay mechanics, to have few NPC as your employees, of course they faces are created by you. You can train them (like SLF pilots) and use them for SLF pilots. You can also put them on the Crew NPC Market. Thanks to that anyone can "hire" them from any space station, because your NPC are free to travel and their are not tied to specific stations, thanks to that we can assume that they are in desired stations all the time. Of course everything earned by your employee belongs to you. You need only to give him few percentages of it! :) It will also solve the problem with exploration multicrew, because your friend can take on board your NPC and also few other npc (you ale may have many NPC) and those NPC works as "remote link to multicrew", because when you participate in multicrew you are not playing as you but rather as you employee. It is a little bit more complicated than telepresence but it's open concept of "shareable" crew NPC, training them, using them for multicrew matchmaking and for multicrew with friends.

That sounds like passive earning - and "fleet" management.

To improve that we can assume that players earn money from employee only when he control them directly with multicrew feature. However does that concept of management is bad? I know Frontier said that Elite is about Pilot and not about politics and something with bigger scale, however that kind of mini-management features would be nice addition and could work fine with multicrew.

I don't care about how the insta Transfer is called, as Long as i can see the avatar of my friend and he can see my Avatar on the Bridge.

EDIT: And not a stupid remote controlled placeholder like i am looking at the Moment.

I expect that representation of player crew will be the avatar that each player has spent time creating - why create it otherwise?

You could also buy little toilets and space beds for them, and organise BBQ nights and<Ahem>

Frontier, please answer to our feedback in upcoming streams. What do you think about our opinions, what you will expand/change etc.

What I would like to see - if I have two SRVs in my hangar let me and my MC buddy use them - lil thing for explorers that is better than complete lack of anything.
Why can I let the helm to my buddy? He dont have the Cutter and its a perfect opportunity to let him try mine. (If he choose to boost it in to the station it might be problematic...)
As a pilot I want to let my NPC crew member take the steer (like when we are using our fighters) and check out other MC stations.

TBH, I don;t think they will, because I don't think they can. They've had a year to come up with engaging multi-crew activities that aren't reliant on ambulation. And they either could not think of anything, or it's been to difficult to add. I honestly don't see multi-crew (if that's even right to call it that) changing much at all. The best the'll do is repeat the old "there's more coming later" as ever, but I think a proper multi-crew (as envisaged by the community) is rather dependant on space legs. And there's no guarantee space legs is anywhere close.

No, sadly, the beta is too close for multi-crew to be changed much. And sadly the feature will join CQC and Powerplay in the eyes of the players as more wasted dev-time.

No see you are phrasing it wrong, if you want it to get implemented you need to say it like this:

"What I would like to see is if I have two SRV's let me and my MC buddy use them both. That way we can raid planet bases and do surface assault missions together from the ground! It would be a blast to attack the skimmers while my bud handles the turrets and other defenses!"

See, Frontier would consider that because it's a combat feature, and then us explorers would get what you asked for simply by accident.

Yeah. I bought it blind with some christmas cash. Jesus it was awesome. I might actually go back and play it again, watching that vid has reminded me of my teenage years.

I didn't stumble upon Part One, but completed IWar 2. And that was also pure awesomeness. And we had a home base there! With commodity storage! :D

highly recommended while we wait on the 2.3 and 2.4 ;-)
