2.3 Superpower Bounty Split needs to be changed!

I have tracked the Cartoq influence effects and though my observations, the negative effects of the superpower bounty split for superpower affiliated factions is causing too much negative effects.

Cartoq day 1 effect;

Controlling faction Cartoq Purple Major Organisation rose 2.7%, however the superpower effect is only shared between itself and one other faction.

Gaohikel for Equality rose a significant 5.6% while surprisingly enough Esumindii for Equality dropped 2%. It is reported in EDDB that Esumindi for Equality is tied up in an Election in Pilngalu, so it does not gain Bounty boosts as well as Values party of Cartoq and Independents of Yuqui who both dropped 3.5% and 3.4% respectively.

Of direct note, the independents of Cartoq Gold Drug Empire dropped 1% and Freedom Party of Cartoq rose 0.7% - I suspect from KWS boost, but not enough to make a difference in comparison. This will continue tomorrow as of right now the influence struggle from Bounties is only split in a 3-way in the system. The Anarchy will continue to loose despite being in boom.

Once the elections for the 3 other Federation factions clears, we'll see a far more pronounced climb and drop in the system, but for now with only a 2-way split for the supwerpower bounties the controlling faction will be able to maintain a gain for the time being.

Cartoq day 2

Well, here it is - the beginning of the supwerpower bounty effect.

The foreign election for Esumindi for Equality cleared, and they are now in a state of Boom. I did not travel to their system the other day to see the state for certain, but its obvious they are under the bounty effect now.

The result is the controlling faction of Cartoq Purple Major Organisation dropped 2.2%, while Gaohikel for Equality rose 1.7% and Esumindii for Equality rose 6.4%.

The independent Freedom Party of Cartoq rose 0.1% but that will not last.

The in-system election between Values Party of Cartoq and Independents of Yuquii ended, but they both dropped 2.2% for now, but will be benefiting from the bounty hunting tomorrow.

Also, as expected the Cartoq Gold Drug Empire lost 0.7% and should be stuck at 1% for the remainder of the Community Goal I would think.

Tomorrow will be the telling tale for the unfortunate controlling faction as their Federation bounties are now counting a 4 to 1 opposition. I would say good luck, but this system will be in turmoil within the week.

Caroq Day 3;

Ouch.

So, the controlling faction Cartoq Purple Major Organisation dropped 6.9% today as well as Gaohikel for Equality dropping 1.6% despite gaining a share of the superpower bounties.

In the meantime the other 3 Federal groups rose - Values Party of Cartoq gained 3.7%, Independents of Yuquii gaining 4% and Esumindii for Equality gaining 1.6%.

The independant Freedom Party of Cartoq lost a minor 0.6% and the anarchy Cartoq Gold Drug Empire lost the last 0.1% to be at the bottom.

It would almost appear as if the controlling faction might come out of this ahead, but not before dropping more - but we will have to see.

In an interesting note, the Independents of Yuquii are in Civil Unrest and Values Party of Cartoq is in a state of Outbreak. Although the outbreak holds little meaning, the Independents in a state of Civil Unrest might have an opportunity to gain some ground if the BGS holds true to some of the mechanics here, as I understand Civil Unrest increases Bounty influence values.

The Community Goal is approaching Tier 6 as I write this, so we may have a couple days left to see more effects of this.

Cartoq day 4;

Well, the CG is nearing tier 7, so we have at least another day of this.

The controlling faction Cartoq Purple Major Organisation continued to loose, dropping another 3% today. Surprisingly enough, their loss is being slowed somewhat but still is suffering from a noticeable drop.

Most of the other federal Factions continued to rise as expected. Gaohikel for Equality gained back 0.2%, Estumindii for Equality gaining 2.1% and not quite surprisingly the Independents of Yuqui pulled ahead by 2.6%.

Surprisingly enough, the Values Party of Cartoq lost 2.9%, making me realize the Outbreak state is limiting influence gains for them of which I overlooked earlier.

The Independents lost as to be expected, with the Freedom Party of Cartoq loosing 0.1% and the anarchy Cartoq Gold Drug Empire remaining stuck at 1%.

Realizing the limitation of the Outbreak, the supwerpower bounties will remain split by a 3 against 1 ratio. Not extremely horrible, yet still not good for the controlling faction.

The Caroq Purple Major Organisation may be able to remain ahead at the end of the CG, but it certainly will not be such a dominating factor as it started out.

Cartoq day 5;

I kinda wish the other Fed faction wasn't in outbreak and we'd see the effect more, but its still quite obvious here.

The controlling faction Cartoq Purple Major Organisation dropped 1.9% today, continuing to prove that the supwerpower split is detremental to whatever controlling faction is present.

Gaohikel for Equality remained stable for the day, while the Values party of Cartoq being stuck in Outbreak left them out of the bounty share and dropped 1.9% today.

The Independents of Yuquii rose 2.5% while the Esumindii for Equality rose 1.4% continuing to benefit from the invisible work from the superpower bounties.

The Independents continued to loose for the day, with the Freedom party of Cartoq dropping an additional 0.1% while the anarchy Cartoq Gold Drug Empire remained locked at 1%.

The CG currently is halfway to tier 8, letting us have another day of this to continue to prove the point.

However, considering how it is working, I almost wonder if this was the point of FDev's? The controlling faction remains in control, although it prevents it from easily pushing towards infinite Expansions. A stopgap maybe? However the negative effects on Independents cannot be ignored, and the sutuation would be significantly more dire if the controlling faction was Independent.

I would still like to see FDev take a closer look at it, and either revert the changes or just remove superpower bounty influence effects to mitigate it - as even that would have a similar result but be more equal regardless of superpower affiliation.

Cartoq day 6;

The controlling faction Cartoq Purple Major Organisation continued to loose 1.5% today, still proving the effects of the superpower bounties being negative even for the controlling faction.

Gaohikel for Equality continued stable for the second day in a row, an interesting turn of events all things considered.

However the Values party of Cartoq is still in Outbreak and is loosing ground again, another 1% down.

The Independents of Yuqui did manage to end the Civil Unrest and gained another 1.6% while the Esumindii for Equality gained another 0.9%, slowing down.

The Indi factions continued to be shot, tho not changing from the positions.

I suspect the fed factions would balance off around 20% along with Gaohikel for Equality, or thereabouts in the eventual future thanks to the superpower bounty sharing.

Really wish the Outbreak for the Values Party of Cartoq was done, but oh well. The result is still quite obvious so far - the sharing effect does have a balancing nature to it, but it only favors superpower affiliations. Independent factions loose out, and the controlling factions get yanked down. Although slowing the Expansion effects has some merit, the negative factors certainly aren't good in the long run.

Cartoq day 7 - the aftermath;

The CG ended yesterday, so today's tic is the last to show the effects of bounty hunting here.

The Controlling faction dropped another 1.6%, settling at 35.8% - a whole 14.8% lower than where it started.

Gaohikel for Equality dropped 1.7% today, settling at 17.7% having rose 4.2% during the event.

Values Party of Cartoq cleared its Outbreak, starting a Boom today rising 4.5% to land at 7.6%, the result of donations from people I assume since the Outbreak was blocking bounties, its end result is 3.3% lower than its start.

Independents of Yuqui rose a mere 0.2% to end at 16.8% a full 5.3% higher from its start.

Esumindii for Equality fell another 0.8% to also land at 16.8% and landing an incredible 9.6% from its start.

The Independents remain at the bottom, with the Freedom Party of Cartoq falling another 0.5% to end at 4.4%, only a bare 0.5% from where it started, proving their inability to gain with superpower factions in the system.

The anarchy Cartoq Gold Drug Empire remained at 1% as expected, having lost 1.8% from where it started.

The Independents of Yuqui and Esumindii for Equality are tied at the moment, so are pending a conflict. I have not visited the system, but since both are democracy governments it should be an Election.

If anything, the end result proved the invisible multiplication of superpower bounties was quite negative for the independent group that had bounties, and continued to outright screw the anarchy's inability to gain bounties at all. It makes me wonder the sense of it all on that front, as Independent Anarchies will have the toughest time of all out there.

While looking back at it I can appreciate how it will curb endless Expansions, the side effects against non-superpower affiliated factions is appalling.

I will stand by my suggestion of just removing superpower bounty influence effects to have a similar result, without such a negative side effect.

Now I don't presume to speak for FDev's plans, but I feel the intent was to pull bounty hunting locations away from generating expansions - pre 2.3 the superpower bounties went to the station owner, pushing influence up easily. By splitting, it spreads it out, prevent easy influence pushes - however its effect, is especially harsh against independent factions.

I would like to suggest that the Superpower Bounties simply do not generate influence for the BGS.

By doing that, you remove the boost to the controlling faction enough to pull them back, and removes the invisible influence boost for aligned factions. The result should be similar to what is desired - reducing the expansion effect - but in a way that isn't detrimental for independent factions.
