Hey Ed:

Starports can now be injected via server updates

Can we um...inject a Starport into Van Mannen's Star system within a reasonable distance to the star that has a shipyard and outfitting?
 
For those asking about "Beta access".

I've never bought Beta access and I have the option to download the beta in my launcher.
I'm downloading the beta now.

[Hint: Steam users, do not load the Horizons client when asked, load the normal one and the option is there to download the Beta ;) ]
 
Oooh, lots to digest. Sounds like you'll be having lots of fun in beta! I am looking forward to the actual release to us mere mortals, and in particular I'm excited about:

  • Improve the chance of rank up and engineer missions being available (hooray! it's been a rank-up desert lately!)
  • When targeting a station's location ... show the schematic in the correct orientation Small thing, big difference
  • Asteroid Bases YES!
  • New Megaships NICE!
  • Added two turreted mining lasers Civilian things! AWESOME!
  • Detailed Surface scanner: Long Range engineer mod Goodies for Explorers, too!
  • Added a new Data Link scanner for ships New mission types! Hooray!
  • Increased the credit values of exploration data for scans after this release More goodies for Explorers, too!
  • Added a dockable megaship called 'Fisher's Rest' to the Aldebaran system Nice touch, FDev

Have fun, CMDRs - hope all these things make it to Release!

I don't have that option. Did you preorder Horizons?
 
Great work frontier! Wonder if the two last mega ships with just ???? as a name is alien mega ships?
 
Regeneration sequence healing will now be affected by the targets thermal resist resistance will block healing as well (note that negative resistances will not increase healing)...

Are you kidding me ?! Remove this gamebreaking effect
 
Wow that a lot of updates, hopefully you guys can figured out the problems with multi-crew soon.

Reduced exploration rank boost from passengers as it was way too high
So how does that effect people with the rank already? Will we suddenly drop Exportation ranks?
 
Just checking it out - how do I get the Ship Name/Ship ID to display?

Also, I don't think that we should be allowed to change the Ship Registration ID, for obvious reasons ;)
 
Fighters no longer 'red out'

Make me a little sad that we can't have these in the game :(

But otherwise huge and great updates. [up]

Very curious about the asteroid bases. I hope they have no centrifugal gravity.

Prison cells? I like that one. I would love to transport some prisoners.
I would like there to be some really nasty looking prisons in ED too, not only down on planets, but also in space.
