No mention of the instant "Mission Failed" bug?

Hi there,

We've had trouble reproducing this locally, which either means:

1. 2.3 is perfect and it doesn't happen anymore, or
2. It's something to do with the interactions of live servers with hordes of real people on them.

Since I also couldn't reproduce using a private instance of the current live build, I suspect 2... but I hope 1...

They don't appear to be listed, but there are some speculative fixes in this build, so I'll be keeping an eye on the beta.

Wow, thank you! I submitted a ticket a long time ago about this! It will allow me to use both the M+K and the controller (latter for combat situations).
Although I prefer to jump into the fully fleshed out thing, You may have handed yourself one extra beta purchase, so that I can test it. :)
 
Big kudos for the following
  • Commander creator (of course, we all knew that :D)
  • New starports can be injected via a server update.
  • Prisoner cells for transporting criminals and prisoners
  • SHIP NAMING (I'll definitely buy a name plate from the store)
  • Quite a few other things I'm sure I missed
For those who don't have Beta access, I heartily recommend you picking it up in the store.

i only have that problem in Sothis and Ceos Systems :-S guess its was normal, considering, and never reported it !

I wonder, could this be caused by someone accepting the mission just before the one that the bug happens to accepts it?
 
32? As in, among these thousands of inhabited systems, many of them containing millions of asteroids... only 32 times did anyone have the idea of turning an asteroid into a space station?

Only 32 times with beta payout rewards was any faction able to afford one of these.
 
Fix some incorrect scale assumptions when fitting the left eye image to the monitor window. The view should feel a little less stretched. In addition there will be a significant memory.

Please, I beg you, increase the FOV of the monitor window so we can watch gameplay recorded in VR without getting a headache.

I was hoping for a fix to instafailing missions though, or is that implicit trough some of the other fixes ?

A FD programmer said they hope its fixed above in this thread, but not sure. Yay!

Interesting stuff!

A few concerns and accolades:

- Despite being originally advertised as a cheap multicrew ship when released, the Keelback does not support multicrew despite clearing supporting an NPC crewman. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! Seriously, though ... if it supports a fighter bay and someone to fly them, it should have an extra seat added. Even if it doesn't make it into the beta, I strongly urge you to consider remodeling the cockpit area to put an extra seat in there somewhere.
- Still no changes to crime and punishment I see. Does multicrew require everyone to be on the same server, i.e all in Open? Cause most people are avoiding Open like the plague because there's no law and order and it'll make it hard to encourage people to go into Open to multicrew without this change. Come on, Frontier, this has been in high demand for least two years. Sandro even asked folks for suggestions over a year ago. Why keep us waiting on this?

- Support for asteroid and planetary ring bases? Yes, please!! I hope these bases offer small landing pads only so as to give purpose to unloved ships like the Cobra MkIV and Diamondback Explorer (which still sucks at actual exploration since 2.0 due to it's lack of optional internals).
- Bigger reward for exploration data? Nice! How much more? Does it just cover detailed scans or also the base ADS honk? Also, I dig the fact that you can engi boost detailed surface scanners. It's a nice touch and will cut down time scanning time during exploration runs.

Questions:

- Are there further roles planned for multicrew? Gunner and fighter roles are far too limiting and only effective in combat, and only for very few ships that are suited for fighter bays and turreted weapons. I know explorer and miner requests are listed, but there's nothing to actually DO, no? I mean, why add Multicrew in the Asp Explorer when it has no fighter bay, no viable mounts for turrets, and spends far more time running missions and exploring than actual combat?

Holy changelog Batman! Some really nice things in there and some intriguing ones too. A massive thanks to all the team for getting it to this point.

I do have 1 major issue though. There's finally been something for explorer's added to engineers, but in order to get a Grade 5 DSS upgrade you either have to be Elite combat rank!!! or be Friendly with the Empire and have an Achenar permit!!!

Please tell me you are joking? I am only Novice in combat and have no intention whatsoever of becoming friendly with the Empire! Shame you don't think of explorers being, well, independent explorers.
 
2 questions

1 32 stations added to "DEEP space" asteroid clusters WHY deep space does the DEVS dont like us having near by stuff??
2 has any one actually upgraded yet as for the last 2 hours I keep getting connection closed fail getting ridiculous now, again why hasn't ED pre planned there servers for this shambles!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Oh how I love this game....I have been off for months. Need to replace my computer. Cat spilled water on it...

Water does not go well with electronics by the way.....but it will shortly be replaced by a newer , better gaming system. 😀 Just hope I'll be able to recover my save file from the hard drive.....
