Patch Notes Update 2.3 The Commanders Beta - Changelog

quick question if I may.. If we spend the time creating our characters in Beta will we be able to import them into the non beta version when it is live?
 
Really nice changelog there, I see some really great QoL stuff that I like.

This right here does bother me though:

I do have 1 major issue though. There's finally been something for explorer's added to engineers, but in order to get a Grade 5 DSS upgrade you either have to be Elite combat rank!!! or be Friendly with the Empire and have an Achenar permit!!!

Please tell me you are joking? I am only Novice in combat and have no intention whatsoever of becoming friendly with the Empire! Shame you don't think of explorers being, well, independent explorers.

Yep, Lori Jameson’s requirements have always been troubling for me as an explorer, now more so than ever. That really blows, I’m gonna have to grind some combat rank if it stays that way.

You know, the bug with the Dropship paintjob covering the vehicular bay took over a year to fix, so I don't think we'll see the cockpits fixed just yet.

I agree with you tho, it would be nice to see this corrected :)

Oh damn. A whole year just for a PJ fix!? Jesus... we pay extra for paintjobs and they STILL aren't a priority... My god.

I guess I can start getting my hopes up for the cockpit fix sometime after Star Citizen launches in the year 2027.
 
Not interested in the vanity camara to make my Commander look fashionable, kids stuff, was only interested in multicrew.
 
Added idle animations for other commanders in cockpit

Would love to know what some of these are, here's my suggestions:

  • checking FB on mobile
  • Selfie
  • Picks nose
  • Plays with seat adjustment
  • Fiddles with other cockpit controls (radio/lights/electric window) :D

Looks very good, quite comprehension, but...

Balance pass for AI interdiction ability, to make it slightly easier

I thought interdictions were already super-easy as it is. i`ll be able to avoid them blindfolded now... Unless I understand it wrong. Still good patch all right.
 
These patch notes are always so incredibly detailed. Every other game developer team out there could learn from FDev. Looking forward to 2.3!
 
I'm a bit nervous about the limiting of 3 quests for everything. CZ's were only fun because you could stack so many (the profit was only okay I hope it was adjusted a lot) and I haven't even tried to get fed rep for a corvette yet (just finally finishing my imperial rep after a year). I'm nervous it's going to take me a really really long time to get federal rep now. So many have corvettes and cutters unlocked already, I really hope rep was adjusted since it only says rewards increased not sure if it was only monetary.
