Greetings, logged into the beta for the first time today. So far so good, content and tweaks appear positive.

Some comments and observations.

Camera keybinds . Tried twice to bind keys to the camera suite , it doesn't seem to be remembering them after I pressed apply. On probability it's probably a local issue, as I have seen many videos showing the camera in operation.

Loved the ship naming, although couldn't find a nameplate in the store. Are they a store or outfitting buy ?

I rezzed into my Asp, but on a much earlier instance, in a station some 350ly away from where it was parked last night ..my credits are at the level they were about a week ago too....

I did a couple of delivery missions, and all went well, payments and material rewards were all correct , with the exception that I've never been interdicted by an elite npc in an imperial clipper before , he never caught me, but I didn't fancy having to face him :D just thought it odd as my combat rank is only expert. It might be fine, I just thought it odd. I thought the npc 's were going to be balanced down....not up

I did notice that the engine sounds awful at full supercruise, it's like a high frequency whining , maybe the ground crew didn't check the oil levels :)

I then took a short trip out to Alien crash site, about 17 jumps, everything was normal except EDengineer wasn't announcing destinations or system information, I'm assuming that I may need to drop a copy of the .dll file back in correct ED folder ? Or it might not be fully turned on in the server?

Let me know if I should put a ticket in on the audio issue

Overall so far the updates meet my expectations.
 
For my own sanity, is the wave scanner on the SRV fixed?

In the brief time I've used it in the Beta, it looks good. I was getting those very narrow signals which disappeared as you got closer, but haven't had any problems, yet, in the beta.

Hi there,

We've had trouble reproducing this locally, which either means:

1. 2.3 is perfect and it doesn't happen anymore, or
2. It's something to do with the interactions of live servers with hordes of real people on them.

Since I also couldn't reproduce using a private instance of the current live build, I suspect 2... but I hope 1...

They don't appear to be listed, but there are some speculative fixes in this build, so I'll be keeping an eye on the beta.

I'm a little late to the party, but I couldn't immediately see where this one went....
Given the sheer volume of reports in the bug forums, its pretty much certain this bug exists in live.

If you haven't done anything specifically to fix it in beta, the chances are it isn't fixed.

Now for the really big issue with this....
You have mentioned in the release notes that •Occupied passenger cabin modules can no longer be stored using the store multiple menu

As this was the ONLY way of removing passengers when the bug affected a passenger mission, this will seriously cause problems....

Suggest you look a bit harder for the bug in live to make certain it's fixed in 2.3...

For my own sanity, is the wave scanner on the SRV fixed?

I used it for a couple of hours and I'm not sure I like the changes. I would get both an audio and visible signal from the scanner about mesosiderites or metal meteorites. I would then correct my course to go directly to the echo and then it would disappear, both from the scanner and the audio. Would take a turn and it would re-appear. I think they did something to it but it certainly doesn't behave like in the first patch that introduced it. At least in the current public patch, 2.2.03, you can trust the audio most of the time. Now, it seems to just "disappear" when you change your heading. Like I said, I'm not sure if this is the intended fix or a bug. It was definitely harder for me to detect those mesosiderites and metal meteorites using it. YMMV...

Man, accidentally spilling superglue while your caps lock key is pressed sucks. I feel for you man.
 
Changing the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout>Scancode Map to 00000000 00000000 02000000 00003A00 00000000 will cure that problem once and for all.
It remaps CapsLock to do nothing. It's one of the most delightful things that can be done.

Nice update. Especially nice are wave scanner fix, mission fixes, NPC piracy improvements and station schematic orientation.

Why these? Because they affect my own game play fairly often. After the wave scanner broke and too many missions bugged I stopped playing almost completely.

  • Added thread safety to the StellarforgePostGeneration as it is used by the stellarforge job system on worker threads

Can't wait to try this! Wait, I mean... I hope it works just fine. :D

I just physically remove the key.
