My highlights/questions.

New mysterious things added
- I suppose this will kick off on Thursday

Why Thursday?

Added 32 asteroid bases in various deep space locations
- I wonder where these are and how deep into space they will be?

Well there's certainly at least one in the Heart & Soul Nebula.

Reset my save, noticed that CMDR starts with a million credits. Is this a beta thing only?

Magical telepresence, magical pips, and magical third-person gunnery, all on schedule. *shudder*

You are flying a space ship with aliens and laser weapons that scoops hydrogen fuel a few ls away from a star yet doesn't melt into thousands of pieces or crumple like a tin can in 10g+ with several hundred G maneuvers that don't affect your pilots health or sanity.

It's all magic, it's make-believe, its space-fantasy... Provided the world is believable then it's all good. Tbh I agree telepresence isn't the best reasoning and it'd have been better to just to say "It's for gameplay, sthu and play the game" but compared to some of the big lies in the game (FTL travel for a start), it's a minor one in comparison so I think we need to get over it.

Did you know that telepresence features heavily in the lore and literature of the Elite universe? *GASP* It is just outrageous that the game uses it too!

Maybe after the excitement dies down, eventually with spacelegs they could change it back to requiring meeting up on the same megaship bussing around the galaxy in 1k LY jumps like a subway schedule and nix telepresence.

Not to forget magical I-exploded-16kLYs-from-home-and-respawned-at-home-unharmed escape pods that seem to be VERY well equipped in terms of FSD and fuel scoop.
 
Kinda confused on Xbox. No download, and I've power cycled the brick and everything. Do we have to wait the entire downtime before being able to download the update? Because I hope not, I wanted to play today.

To go with that actually, has the size of the download been released at all?

I don't need to turn this into another debate about it, but believe me I have plenty to say. I've said it already, for example: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...he-Petition!?p=5346836&viewfull=1#post5346836 . I'm genuinely sad, as I was excited about the kind of game it was, and that spirit turned out to be temporary (or just an illusion).
 
Blimey! I expected some tweaks but this is massive.
Just 1 thing though: no fix for ED launching in VR by default when the Vive is conntected? Because I don't use the Vive for ED atm, just for roomscale games and the sensors don't have a view of my desk. ED gives the option to launch in VR or regular, but if he Vive is connected, it launches in VR no matter what you choose.
Little detail for the next changelog?

EDIT: Never mind! The launch options now work as inteded! Excellent job, no complaints.

Same on the PC side, no upgrade option and play just tells you the servers are off at the moment so yeah looks like all day.
