Nope. We will wear the Pilot Federation Bounty with Honour.
:-D

I really hope that "griefers" won't go away with this update.

I'm not much of a diehard PvPer myself, but I think it's the best part of the game when I suddenly find myself in the middle of Gank City after a jump.

So guys, I really hope that you'll keep doing what you always did. My "report crime" setting will be off :)

well that certainly is a first impression .

"Fixed some over-inflated mission rewards"

Huh? Is this the same mission reward system we're all seeing? Where you get rewarded with a tenth of a pittance for taking a hundred tons of gold through anarchy space across the bubble?

The optimist and explorer in me read, "Corrected the colour of the high Metals worlds...." but alas.

Preparing to duck (no pun intended ;)) at opening the can of worms, but aren't they the correct colour? Didn't the whole beigification arguments stem after a change that was made because people complained planets weren't a realistic representation? So Frontier made the colours more accurately match the composition of the planet and now people don't like the realism.

My apologies for not responding sooner, this issue has been on my list to chase up for a while. The reason for the difference being observed on the rocky worlds is the change to the new material system - in theory this is more accurate as it uses the chemical properties to determine the colour (obviously I'm simplifying a bit here!), however the problem is that those colours were based on Earth standard colouration for those materials, and most of those are beige/brown rather than the colours you might observe in the myriad of other possible conditions. We're currently working on a more flexible material system, and this will necessitate a fresh balance pass on these. That's not going to be in 2.3 though.

Michael

Now I've heard that the galaxy is looking less beige in the 2.4 beta, maybe the work on the flexible material system has begun. Just because it's not in the patch notes doesn't mean it's not there, ongoing work on something doesn't mean that it's complete enough to put in the patch notes.

Im the opposite and play solo because of this. I like PvP, but if i want ganking, i'll go and play Eve. :)

Wow that's quite a lot of rage for a post that wasn't even directed at you. Obviously though you are an amazing gamer, shame that you don't understand how things work in this game which, considering how long you've been here, is surprising.

That was no rage, I'm not even close to raging. And I have to disagree, I know how things work in this game, I'm just saying you're flat out imagining or whiteknighting by saying that the guilds/clans/whatever in this game do exist (but are just different). I'm saying this is just a work of your imagination and role playing their existance.

If a dog looks like horse or pretends to be a horse, that doesn't make it an actual horse.

A better one than some make :D Welcome to the forums!

Actually I never said this game has clans/guilds. This game does have player factions, whether you choose to accept that or not is entirely up to you.

Your linked post pretty much contradicts what you said. FDev made the colours more accurately match the composition of Earth. Not the actual planet that you are seeing, which has different conditions to earth.

I didn't notice any difference in the Beta. But yes they also don't mention everything in the patch notes, so something may have been done, but I doubt it.

Given how little else in the game is realistic (automatic slowing down when in supercruise, FTL travel, inability to enter orbit, lasers etc) and rightfully so, why listen to a small fraction of the audience for one thing (beigeness) but not all the other things (CQC, exploration improvements, setting waypoints for POI landings blah blah blah)??

What social media will the server update announcements be made on? I have the official Elite pages on Twitter and Facebook open.

I've made 4-5 guilds/clans/factions (all ended no.1 in different games and usually stayed at the top for months/years/to the end of the game/...) , ranging from 60 people to 600, so I've got quite a good idea, what a bloody guild or clan is and how it operates and what tools it should include. I have seen more advanced guild systems in worthless browser games.

if you get a tag, that doesn't mean you're in a clan/guild, you are there only in your imagination.

this issue isnt whether you know what a guild is.. but whether you know that they were always low down on the priority, and that when discussed the majority were not interested

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/8368-Guilds-in-Elite-Dangerous

I cant find the post from the devs explaining that they are not putting in guilds any time soon. above is not perfect as its not official but it gives you an idea of the kind of players who helped fund the game past kser. this does not mean guilds should never be in, but with so so much missing content which the game WAS sold on, imo its only right to prioritise that content 1st.

of course i would say that as lack of guilds is one of my major boons for backing this game.

26.09.2017:
Still nothing to manage.
.

and this i do have a link for..... managing ships is equally low down on the list. you clearly dont like it, its unforuntate you bought a game lacking by design features you want... i rather like playing it however despite obvious missing content (content which WAS meant to be in which i hope is a higher priority )

Considering that weaponized lasers exist, I wouldn't say it's unrealistic to think we'd have the kind they do in ED 1300 years from now. (Though I have no idea what science the "healing" effect is supposed to be based on...) And the FTL part is based on the real theory of the Alcubierre-White drive. The other points on your list there is spot on, though. I didn't even consider the lack of orbits, but now you mention it, it's kinda weird that they didn't include that.

  • Ship Rebuy Penalty – When a player commits the crime of murder (PvP only), an additional cost is added if they swap to a less expensive ship before paying legal costs during the rebuy flow
    • Exemption for valid Powerplay PvP
  • Pilot’s Federation Bounty – When a player commits the crime of murder (PvP only), they receive an additional Pilot's Federation Bounty. This bounty is valid in every jurisdiction except anarchies
    • Exemption for valid Powerplay PvP

As a player who has fractured his fair share of laws-& killed more than his fair share of innocent NPC civilians-I really, *REALLY* hope you guys consider extending these penalties to PvE crimes of the same magnitude, in the not too distant future.
