The new Crime and Punishment system is not tuned correctly for Powerplay undermining and has made this aspect of the game uninviting/not fun and appears to punish this type of play.
- Gain bounty when you destroy legitimate opposing faction NPC – Agree
- Gain Notoriety value when you destroy a legitimate opposing faction NPC – Do not agree
Frontier is treating PP bounty amounts differently from other types, but they aren’t doing this for Notoriety points. For example, get a bounty for a misfire at a non-PP NPC you are then given Anonymous Access to a number of stations due to the Notoriety points that were gained from legitimate Powerplay undermining. You cannot pay off the fine until your Notoriety is back to 0.
If you gain your merits by doing undermining, in a matter of moments you will be at level 10 Notoriety and you will keep this forever if you meet merit goals each cycle.
Solutions:
- No longer give Notoriety points for legitimate Powerplay kills
- If Notoriety points are to stay for Powerplay kills, treat them differently
Question, why are Notoriety points given for NPC kills at all? Wasn’t this added to stop griefers?
Am I missing something here? Let me know your thoughts.
