30 essential animals meta-wishlist

I’m afraid you’ll probably pay more then that. Right now you pay 10$ for five. I want more animals also but it’s going to cost you. In the base game we got 73-76 for at least 50$. Plus dlc would bring the total to 90 so expect to pay at least a hundred for that many.

I'd be very happy if they even just made all the animals that had 20 or more votes - even at current costs. That's 45 animals. That's not to disrespect or say any of the other animals aren't important or good ideas - some of my own are well below that cut off in fact, it looks like only 18 or 19 of my 30, depending on how you count the leopard, are in that cutoff - it' just saying "hey, here's the animals that got a lot of votes, let's concentrate on these."

Planet Zoo = 76 animals, an entire game, multiple scenarios and thousands of scenery pieces and costs 50 bucks.

I'm saying 100 animals (some reskinned). NOTHING ELSE. No game. No scenarios. No scenery pieces. It wouldn't be twice the price of the base game.

How could you justify 50 dollars extra for 24 imaginary animals when that would be less content than the base game.

"Here's half the game, it's on sale for twice the price."

So, here's my list: with some mechanics

1.) Red Fox
2.) Eurasian Beaver
3.) Common Crane
4.) Eurasian Lynx
5.) Przelwalski's Horse
6.) Saiga antelope
7.) Coral reef fishes (to built a huge reef with different species)
8.) Manta ray (to build aquariums)
9.) Backtip reef shark
10.) Green sea turtle
11.) Moray eel
12.) Lungfish
13.) Jellyfish
14.) Fennec Fox
15.) Fossa
16.) Griffon Vulture
17.) Golden eagle
18.) Secretarybird
19.) Cougar
20.) Ocean sunfish
21.) Beluga sturgeon
22.) Helmet Hornbill
23.) Guitarfish
24.) Manatee
25.) Tanuki
26.) Saiga antelope
27.) Parrots (to build aviaries)
28.) Bats
29.) Shoebill
30.) Harpy Eagle
You wrote saiga antelope 2 times if you would be interested in correcting that...?

Yeah I agree, comparing base game to DLC like that doesn't work. Do the same with other games, you'll come to same conclusion.
Even with the often mentioned examples: Civilization 6, TheSims4.

I would say that would cost $150 - $200, like $1,49 or $ 1,99 per animal. People are willing to spend that much on just skins for their guns/character in other games.

@12344321 thats a dollar a animal which I think is very fair.

I guess my math is bad.

Because you just said it's 76 animals AND an entire, full fledged game for 50 bucks?

That' 0.65 cents per animal and it comes with an entire game.

But you think $1.00 per animal is fair, without anything else...Based on your information you provided 0.65 cents per animal would be "fair". If anything it should be less than that (0.65 cents) per animal since you don't get a game with it lol.

But to each their own, I'm sure someone in the world thinks $5 per animal is "fair".

Exactly lol that’s why I don’t get when people whine now about paying 10 for all things included. And 1$ per animal is fair lol. Consider people’s salary plus the time and effort to make said 100 animals. There a company and there always going to make their money. Nobody works for fee smh.

I understand, I admit I didn't consider people's salaries because Frontier already did that when they priced their base game (and the 76 animals in it) at 50 dollars aka 0.65 cents per animal. (At least that's what you said)

Frontier already decided that 50 dollars was a fair price to set their game at. By your logic the base game should have been $76 in order to consider Frontier employees salaries? With all due respect that point does not make any sense.

I hope you can see my point, because I can see your point. Anyway no point in beating a dead horse, I'm just excited for new dlc (at a reasonable price at least)

Most of my loved species are not even in the first 30 but as I said before I would be more than happy with any new animal in the game.

Still my biggest dream is a new animal every month sold separately.
I think that it would be fair to pay 2,99$ for that micro transaction.

I'd say $2 (USD) would be fair for a single monthly animal. There would be the advantage of deciding on each one if you wanted it or not.

And here is my list:

  1. Red Deer
  2. European Bison
  3. Fallow Deer
  4. Eurasian Lynx
  5. Moose
  6. California Sea Lion
  7. West Indian Manatee
  8. Cape Penguin
  9. Clouded Leopard
  10. Walrus
  11. Hamadryas Baboon
  12. Alpine Ibex
  13. Takin
  14. African Leopard
  15. White Rhino
  16. Meerkat
  17. Capybara
  18. Cougar
  19. Fennec Fox
  20. Przewalski's Horse
  21. Lar Gibbon

  24. Red River Hog
  25. Musk Ox
  26. Grey Crowned Crane
  27. Blackbuck
  28. Serval

No offense nutrit but that's a bit excessive :D
Not many people would buy animals at that price. Bear in mind that right now we're getting 4 habitat animals in 10 $/€ DLCs. Plus one exhibit animal (most of the times), plus scenarios (sometimes), plus ~200 building pieces.

Anything over 1,5€ per animal wouldn't sell very well I believe.

No offense taken but I have to disagree with you.
First of all I think that one animal for 2,99$ is not excessive at all and fair for the amount of work needed to be done to make it.
You need to remember that pricing policy is much more complicated than you think. When you buy goods in packages like planet zoo DLC you pay less per animal but if you would like to buy items separately, the unit price is always higher. But remember it’s still a micro transaction.
Look at steam when you buy DLC’s separately you would pay more than buying them all in packages.
Compared to the other games and micro DLC’s 2,99$ is nothing for something like a whole new animal in planet zoo.
But I do respect your opinion - everyone are entitled to have one.

Yeah, I'm having that in mind. DLCs are always overpriced compared to basegames. And the smaller they are, the more overpriced. But 3$ is just way off the price a DLC animal costs now. Even if the current DLCs only had 4 habitat animals (no building pieces, no exhibit, no scenarios), it'd still be 2$ cheaper than your 4 animals at 3$. If that was the case, sure, it'd be 'normal' to pay 2 more dollars if you got the animals separately.
But that is not the case, DLC animals are worth much less than 10$ right now. As much as you appreciate the work that goes into creating an animal, you're kind of forgetting the work that goes into creating building pieces.
Anyway, as you say: your opinion, I respect it.

But regarding the vast PZ playerbase: no; people, even many of the zoos/animal enthusiasts wouldn't be willing to spend 3$ on a single animal. Maybe worth paying that for 3-4 of the most requested animals but that's it. For the rest, it's out of proportion and it'd most likely lead to a lot, and I say a lot of backlash.

You are propably right. But I just wanted to chime in and say that PZ DLC are very fairly priced imo. I play league and nowdays most of their skins release at 1350rp=10euros. So a single purely cosmetic add to one of the hundreds of characters in the game cost as much as one Planet zoo pack. And people still buy skins constantly. I know they are very different games but still intresting to compare.
