The case of Tasmanian devil is very interesting to me and I already commented it here before.Something interesting I'm noting, and I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way by any means. There's so many postings about wanting more animals from Australia and Oceania, myself included (wombat being my second most wanted animal). But as a whole the priorities don't reflect that. The highest ranked animal from that area is the Tasmanian Devil at #14, and the second/third are tied at #23, being the Wombat and Emu. To get to the next one you have to go out of the top 40. Honestly if I read the numbers as a developer, I could see why they would not give a return to this area a priority.
I don’t have nothing against them but it was kind of interesting to watch an animal staying for a very long time in a low numbers around 40 and then reach first 15 in less than a month.
There was a time in March where every list contained devils. Maybe it was a temporary trend. I don’t know but it was really noticeable.
I do like them but they are not so high on my list right now. Always claimed they should be part of Australian pack instead of dingo but it’s also kind of too late for that.
I hope that some of Australian fauna can be revisited one day but I would put my votes on Wombats, Rock wallabies, Emu or tree kangaroo first.
