I saw your post yesterday on Reddit so I joined to add the animals that I would like to see but I would call only the first 20 essential and the others nice to have:
California Sea Lion
Humboldt Penguin
Meerkat
Golden Lion Tamarin
Cotton-Top Tamarin
Black-Capped Squirrel Monkey
Kiwi
Diana Monkey
Vervet Monkey
Scarlet Ibis
Asian Small-clawed Otter
Lar Gibbon
Fennec Fox
Sandhill Crane
North American Beaver
Agouti
Nine Banded Armadillo
Gaur
Anoa
Great White Pelican
Arabian Oryx
Asiatic Lion
Margay
Ocelot
Chinese Giant Salamander
I didn’t want to be too conceited with the title but it really is what it is.
As some of you might remember, a few weeks ago I started this thread in order to show how necessary it would be to change the current DLC formula in order to please what many PZ players are requesting. In order to support this premise, I collected data from this 30 animals wishlist thread by Jeminyne, which ultimately resulted in a meta-wishlist that could entail opening a different thread on its own right. And here it is.
Since it is obviously not possible to make this ‘sticky’, I really hope this doesn’t get buried under dozens of other threads. If it does, I’ll make sure to bump it or create new ones so people keep posting.
The more people participating, the bigger the sample size will be so better conclusions can be drawn. I’m writting down every user who posts their list in order to avoid having repetitions. For this reason, those who posted their lists in Jeminyne’s thread can refrain to do so here as they’ve already been considered. I intend to keep this updated as much as I can.
For the sake of keeping the same wishlist structure, I ask you to post your 30 essential animals that you’d like to see in the game. Lists with anything above 30 animals will be discarded.
Exhibit and aviary animals will not be considered. The birds that will be considered are these that are mainly ground-dwelling or semi-aquatic (mainly Waterfowl, Galliformes, Ratites, Pelecaniformes, Penguins, etc. you get the idea). Birds of prey, parrots, Columbiformes, Passeriformes and so on will be omitted.
To simplify data collection, those answers that include several species per slot (eg.: 1. Any species of sloth) will be automatically treated as a single animal and added to the most requested species inside that generic animal group (eg. in this case: Three Toed Sloth). This obviously leads to an underestimation of the total key requested animals.
Here is an example of 30 essential animals wishlist:
1. Sloth
2. Meerkat
3. Arctic Fox
4. Moose
5. Sika deer
6. White Rhino
7. Penguin (small species)
8. Sea Otter
9. California Sea Lion

TL;DR: Post your 30 essential habitat animals wishlist here. I will record each wishlist and add it to the Meta-list. Aviary and exhibit animals won’t be taken into consideration.
I think mine if more of an Endangered Animal list. But I personally think they need to focus on more endangered species sense they say they want to focus on conservation and getting information out there, rather then making a game.

Here is my 30 animal list:
All added.
We're slowly approaching the 100 figure so data is getting more and more representative. So far 318 unique animals have been voted by at least one of the 84 participants. I'm not gonna say all those should be added to the game because a random user considered a insert niche animal here essential. But to me, anything in the TOP 100 (which means voted by at least 6 people so far) that is left out would be a great loss. Probably more than 75 of those 100 top animals would not be included if we keep getting the same animal rate in DLCs.

Thank you for all that are voting and, I cannot emphasize this strongly enoughly, huge thank you Random Goat.
no surprise still on the top 2 who have pretty much been the top 2 the whole time. Interesting to note the (comparative) drop in numbers outside of the top 4. It's clear that of all the DLC and animals included and not included, Frontier's done a great job except for missing that one big ole giant rodent down in South America! Hopefully the strong support for them will encourage Frontier to fit them in somewhere.
Ok, here's mine. Hope y'all enjoy. And yes, I am aware that most of these will either not make it into the game or that veteran players will hate my choices. I'm going with animals that I've either seen, animals that I can potentially see, and animals that have had an impact on the ecosystem (wild boar, people). Most of the North American animals I've seen. Plus, many of these are ignored by the community in general, so...

Glad you like my choices. It's a shame that players tend to look at more exotic or popular animals than, in some cases, their own backyard. But, i agree: with the amount of animals all over the world, 30 really isn't enough. Maybe Frontier will see this forum and decide to release more animals than 5 per DLC. But who knows. By the way, is there a similar forum but for small exhibit species only? If not, maybe I'll start one

Here's my list - I know its probably heavy on certain regions and taxons and I could definitely switch out a few for other animals I'd also like to see, but it is what it is, my list.(I could happily make a list comprised of just lemurs, but yeah....) I did try to stick to species that I know of being kept in zoos and a few of my picks come right off of the AZA's Saving Animals From Extinction list.
1. Maned Wolf
2. Wombat
3. Przewalski's Horse

That's part of the point. Obviously, the vast majority of the animals listed here won't make it to the game, particularly with the current DLC formula and release schedule. Pretty sure Frontier has been aware of the "more animals per DLC" request/complaint for months. This thread should reinforce that demand with actual facts/data.
