5,000 Ly Plot Question

I want to unlock Professor Palin so I need to go at least 5,000 Ly from start. I figure I'll try making for the Jellyfish Nebula so I pick a system within: Jellyfish Sector XO-Z B0

I hit the plot button, it make a weird noise and says it plotted. Upon inspection, the plot goes through system:

Wregoe GI-B C13-4 (400 Ly from start)

[Last chance to scoop fuel on route]

??? What am I gonna do for gas?!!

I've never plotted beyond 500Ly so obviously, I'm plot-challenged. What am I doing wrong?
I just want a fuel scoop-able route from Diaguandri to Jellyfish Sector XO-Z B0

Here's my boat:

From my own experience, when travelling without filtering the stars, plotter usually takes the easiest route, which consists mainly of M or K class stars. Those are scoopable and there is plenty of them in almost any region of space...

So, if you see this warning on the route, it means, that this is the last scoopable star before you enter a system with an occasional non-scoopable star. It usually does not mean, that there are no more scoopable stars on your route... When it says Last scoopable star - just make sure to fill up your tank and you will be ok...

It NEVER happened to me, that the plotter would lead me to a situation, where I would have no more fuel and no scoopable star around... So far I have traveled around 400.000ly, currently in my third leg of my galaxy circumnavigation trip...

In most places in Galaxy, even if you have fuel for only one or two jumps, there will be an M star around to jump to and scoop...

Looking at the location of the system, you will be facing some challenges when crossing this void... Be careful and in this region only filter KGB FOAM (as others have already correctly recommended)...

That is telling you the last star on the route you currently have fuel for - so if you don't scoop that will be the last place you can. In reality you will scoop at most stars, so that 'last star' will move forward as you do. But worth keeping an eye on so you don't pass it without noticing.

I really wouldn't bother routing to KGBFOAM unless you are really scared - most parts of the galaxy even if you forget and are on your last jump of fuel then there will be a scoopable in range (this happens more when Neutron boosting). I rarely bother with star-class routing, and just watch a bit closer when I don't have a 'next star' on my route 🤷‍♀️

Of note, if All you want to do is make distance, the sum of the above advice is fine.

If, however, you want to try and find things of interest, you might want to drop M class stars off of the filter. While good for fueling, they are the least likely of the Main Sequence to produce ELWs and other phenomena.

Please note, doing this may increase the number of systems you jump through as the plot will be trying to avoid the easier routes. In theory, you could do this with more of the Main Sequence, which is all at the top end of the Star Class filter, but it is possible to get into a situation where it tells you it cannot plot using the limitations you have imposed.

I have visited Medusa Rock via Neutron Stars when I needed to unlock Professor Palin. It is just over 5000 lys away from Matet.

I'm a Fuel Rat and brief on this stuff for clients after I refuel them.

1) You need a fuel scoop - get as large and as high rated scoop as you can fit/afford.

2) Set a filter in 4th tab of Galmap, "Map" view, Filter by "Star Class" Select the top seven star types (these are the K G B F O A & M classes, deselect the other star classes. Tick the "Apply Filter to Route" option at the bottom of the star class list. That should route you only through scoopable stars.

3) Keep that filter active and do not switch to map representaions on the 4th tab away from the "Map" representaion of the 4th tab.

4) Your route on the galmap will update both the dashed line section (You don't have fuel to fly sections of the route shown in dashed lines), and the "Fuel star" marker, as you fly and scoop. So your range should stretch ahead of you progressively as you jump and scoop.

5) If you are unfamilar with scooping, a few things to think of when scooping. Be careful not to accidentally drop into the exclusion zone of the star (but you will be orbitting the star closr to that EZ). Be careful to manage the heat that the star is putting into your ship - you may find this easier to manage if you slow down on your earlier attempts to scoop. Scoop rate is not affected by your speed. If the heat gets out of control, it might be best to fly direcly away form the star until the heat is under control again, then either move on to next system (if you have sufficnet fuel) or go back to ste current star and start again.

Enjoy the trip. Don't forget to at leat honk each system as you pass through.

(Edit - seen thre build. looks reasonable, and yes! a big A rated scoop!)
