Modes 5 minutes in Open...

So now we're discussing premature interdiction? I think I'd keep that strictly between myself and whomever I was participating in the interdiction with. Next thing you know someone is going to bring up their hardpoint dysfunction.

Elite: Very Educational

Private is so horrible that they even afraid to say something bad about it, only positive... or else... oh no it came for me, no, leave me alone, aaaah!

I was just wondering. I never submit to interdiction so whoever's interdicting me won't be rushed because I'll highwake the the FSD will take longer to cooldown.

That's the theory, but so far it has had 0% success.

Oh, well, speaking for myself I'm way more inclined to talk if they failed the interdiction. I've made some pretty cool ingame friends just that way; pulled them in order to give them all kinds of advice and life lessons learned kind of wisdom. Usually they end up flying away wishing I'd just destroyed them. They don't call me Jasobarron The Cruel for nothing.

If you told them about Ayn Rands hilarious theories, I can imagine.

I would rather be shot as well :)

That's my griefer strategy for the DWEII; getting my victims alone in an SRV, somewhere out on a barren planet, and lecturing them about the evils of Collectivism when they can't get away.

Muhahahahah!

Lies! CMDR's in Open are all about rainbows and unicorns! They absolutely never kill without reason, they always try to open communications and resolve the problem before deploying hardpoints! :p
Exactly, they always start communications by pointing the interframe communication device and flashing the red mark of unicorn. But someone's being unsocial and rude on that end calling for a bit of rainbow flowing...

lol that would be the only scenario where clogging is the appropriate recourse.

I shudder at the thought of some evil cmdr interdicting me, destroying my fsd, and then reading out excerpts from Atlas Shrugged...[blah]

Played open back in early 2015 when i started, got ganked a few times in early ships and didnt care.

The thing that pushed me away was when i got and outfitted a brand new python, racked up a couple of millions in bounties first time out rezhunting, went back for repair and turning in bounties, got station rammed, had enough for a rebuy but not to go out flying the python again without risking loosing it, never came back to open.

I dont want to provide ANY gameplay interaction for players that dont want to provide me with meaningful gameplay interaction.

Only time i see open nowdays is if im flipping the board.

Best thing would be if everyone left open and let the murderhobos just go at each other instead, then they would loose interest when no one was annoyed with them anymore and would probably leave the game.

Unfortunately the kind of players that want nothing more then be jerks are getting what they want regardless, and they find it funny when people complain about it, i've not read all the threads on this specific topic about it, but i'm going to most likely correctly assume the various defences have been used, and attempts to deflect from the fact that these kinds of players are simply being jerks for the heck of it, because their fun is ruining the fun of others.
3.0 will in some ways address this, how well remains to be seen.
But yeah, its basically because Elite give people the freedom to shoot at anyone you want, the game itself doesn't care, and some people gladly abuse this freedom to effectively harass and annoy others, all while deflecting that this is what they are doing, or blaming the victims, it would be refreshing if they could simply say. "Yeah I destroy those weaker then myself because I find it fun, so what?" rather then the various excuses. "Git gud" "you are playing open wrong", "The game allows it, so I should do it" and so on. And of course actively trying to derail and close threads discussing the issue.

It is unfortunately, a sad state of affairs of late in many online games, that give players a freedom, and only hurts themselves and the game they are playing.

The fact you're an Ayn Rand fan dismays me - because surprisingly enough, I am too. :p
