6 Interdictions in Solo mode in a single supercruise run seems a little excessive .

It's weird how frequently these posts are popping up compared to a few weeks ago though. How many of these guys are new players? this is something I've been aware of for a while and it only seems to be an issue while stacking missions to the same system specifically

I like getting interdicted and try to encourage it when mission or cargo running by stacking as many cargo missions as I can fit along with a couple of courier ones.
I've fitted out my ships to expect combat on route and it acts a nice way to get engineered mats, a bit of stolen cargo and combat rank.
Crucially though I find it fun.

I'll even slow down for them. Come here little pirate... ;)

I was making a video about illegal passenger missions and I wanted to show how to deal with the interdictions. I kept getting the messages "target acquired...", and I tried everything to make them interdict me, but for some reason they just seemed to fly round in circles. I had to give up in the end without a single interdiction. Maybe that's how to avoid them.

This happens to me quite a bit. Sometimes I get tired of waiting and just go ahead and deliver my cargo. Not a very robust interdiction algorithm IMO, as it (the code) appears to get confused and just flies around in circles fairly frequently.

Yes. I have found that if you act like you want to be interdicted and target them before the interdiction starts, they won't do it. Someone said the algorithm is bad but I think it might actually be good. The algorithm may recognize when you are planning to attack them.
When I was doing that kind of stuff, I waited till the interdiction had started, the targeted using the "NEXT HOSTILE" key, looked at what they were flying and how they were armed. If it was something I could clearly beat, I dropped and killed them. Then a patch came out that seemed to give them a sense of self preservation and they started to run just before I could kill them.

With mining payouts being scaled back a bit and when I can bring in 22mil cr within 20mins stacking missions, that's why you see posts like this more often. I rant because I'm not a combat pilot but have double elite rank in Trade & Exploring and I don't enjoy being interdicted 6 times per run.

if you're making 20 mil in 20 min. You dont need to do anything in the game anymore to get anything you want. So you're doing things specifically targetted to be interdicted on purpose and then complaining about it.

What you should be complaining about is how come the first interdiction didn't kill you? Why is it basically guaranteed that you're always going to win to be interdicted again and again? That's the failure here. The fact that it happened 6 times in a single stint is a symptom of a broken combat system. A correct one would have you either dead or doing something different to avoid being dead (since such interdiction bonanzas would presumably occur while passing thru hazardous systems - where the real lucrative trade runs would be).

Even when stacking missions I find it is easy to avoid the interdictions - just keep an eye on your scanner. Though admittedly there are still the odd ones where an NPC magically appears behind you without any prior warning... Usually I don't avoid the interdictions, though, as my combat score rank is the only one I need to work on.

I also find that if you go fast enough, those NPC pirates (or bounty hunters, depending what you are doing) won't catch up with you anyway. Or they only catch up just as you arrive back at the mission giving port to claim your money - that happens quite regularly, and always makes me chuckle.

Well, there are several posts on here describing exactly how to avoid/mitigate such situations.

The easiest to do, as a none combat pilot, is to learn how to defeat the interdiction rather than just submit and jump back into space.

Besides, learning to beat the interdiction by staying on the escape vector is the best FREE training you are going to got on how to stay on a target should you decide you want to engage in combat.
If all you do is submit and run, you will never learn how to fight during those times when you find out you cannot run fast enough.

There is a simple solution.
Don't stack missions. Why do you need 22 million a run?
If you never get interdicted, you don't need lots of money for repairs.
If you do stack your missions and each attracts people out to stop you, then you have to expect what happens.

This is kinda like that thread where someone wanted to be able to turn off enemies.

It confuses me, but I guess everyone's different right?

Well, you kind of can depending on what you do in game- its just people don't get the connection when they stack eleventy million missions and get a fair number of interested parties calling.

How do I stack eleventy million missions. That should pay 100 billion CRs in no time.
