Greetings Commanders.
Following your feedback on the Thargoid War, we're changing the way the weekly maintenance tick affects system state progress, starting from tomorrow's tick (09/02/3309).
Following tomorrow's changes, this will no longer be the case. Instead, 33% of the total progress required* will be deducted every week.
For example, a system which filled its bar up to 50% will retain 17% and start from there in the following week. This means that if progress is ever 33% or less at the time of the tick, it will be reduced to 0%.
If players fail to reach 100% progress in a system in an Invasion State before all markets are abandoned and the system enters the Controlled state, that system’s progress bar will be reset.
This is why the mechanic is not applicable to the Alert State, as the Alert State only lasts for a single week.
Controlled States:
Unlike Invasion States, Controlled States continue indefinitely until the progress bar is completed, therefore, as long as progress each week remains above 33%, the difference will continually be carried forward each week.
*Each system has an individual target which may vary.
We hope this brings some forward understanding of how these new changes to system state progression, as of tomorrow's routine weekly maintenance tick, will affect your efforts.
We will, as ever, remain attentive to your thoughts and feedback as events unfold.

Following your feedback on the Thargoid War, we're changing the way the weekly maintenance tick affects system state progress, starting from tomorrow's tick (09/02/3309).
Currently, any system which has failed to fill its progress bar loses all progress on the weekly tick.
Progress is not carried across different states.
However, if progress is below 33% it will reduce to zero as it will in Invasion States.
*Each system has an individual target which may vary.
We hope this brings some forward understanding of how these new changes to system state progression, as of tomorrow's routine weekly maintenance tick, will affect your efforts.
