As to #3 with the Actual Station interiorsGot nothing against anyone in this thread, but I would like Obsidian Ant to post this poll on his channel:
What is the next and only subject you want development time to be spent on for Elite: Dangerous?
1. Fully Atmospheric Planets & Gas giants
2. Ship Interiors and deep EVA repair mechanics
3. Bug Fixes and Improvements on Existing mechanics including:
-New ships/ SRV's
-Black Holes and Accretion disks
-Actual Station interiors
(personally, I can't decide between any of them. Maybe atmospheres and gas giants)
X4 walking around overall feels like an unfinished feature - not much to interact with or even do.I figured I should educate myself a bit more what the market outside of ED offers when it comes to ship interiors.
X4 - rather basic, mostly very cramped and often not more than the cockpit and a tight corridor leading to it. I suppose it's alright as part of a package but it wouldn't be a selling point per se on its own. There's no gameplay associated with it other than pushing 'forward' and clicking 'sit down'. Hmm.
not sure if you're just trolling or dont know....but the cost of SC ships is optional. You will be able to acquire all of them in-game via whatever they call the game credits the same way we buy ships in elite. Paying real money is just a way to shortcut it. Not sure they'll even offer such a thing after release ...as all of these ships and such are currently treated like rewards for donating pre-release.SC - Checked out a random video where D2EA went on a tour of a ship. I was seriously impressed with the (often almost unnecessary/OTT) level of detail. Until I found out the ship costs $350. GLOL.
Meh. I can live without either to be honest.

I'm not trolling, my interest in SC is limited due to the business model (P2W) they seem to operate on, and the fact it's not a finished product.X4 walking around overall feels like an unfinished feature - not much to interact with or even do.

So right now you can earn that same ship via playing the game? Why are people paying those kind of sums (and more) for single ships? Is the grind to obtain them going to be that bad? Or is there no other way at the moment?
If that's the case then fair enough - although there was mention of them wiping progress at certain intervals (no idea how that's handled, similar to EDO perhaps, because "Alpha"?Not that i would ever go there.. maybe.. but i also watched a d2ea stream a few months ago.. you can actually earn those many hundred ships in game now reasonably. Sure you have to grind whatever makes the most money, but its the same as elite in that regard. Had no idea you could actually play the game now to get the ships. But no not for me yet. I get upset at frontier for far less crimes against humanity/players that those guys have done.
Also, ship interiors would have made odysee given all we've seen so far. Its a shame they couldn't / decided not to do them.
maybe. Though, i think it'll reach feature parity and surpass games like elite much sooner than that - even if they still want to call it a pre-release.That will require it actually be released though. By the time they get around to releasing it (if at all) most of the kickstarters will have passed their account down to their children / grandchildren

I would really like to know what the technical hurdles are to removing fade to black. My wild guess is that it is practically impossible within the existing framework of the gameI would really like to at least walk up the ramp into my ship
Maybe it’s a technical transition from foot to flight? Or Just all the animations perhaps. Although….I would really like to know what the technical hurdles are to removing fade to black. My wild guess is that it is practically impossible within the existing framework of the game

We got fully animated drop shipping from inside the cargo bay of ships, i wouldn't say it's practically impossible, if we can go out like that, the base is there.I would really like to know what the technical hurdles are to removing fade to black. Fortunately, I have no descendants. That will require it actually be released though. By the time they get around to releasing it (if at all) most of the kickstarters will have passed their account down to their children / grandchildren
Think about how horizons worked. You bought an expansion and that allowed you to land on planets and use an SRV, both with fade to black. It appears on the face of it that fade to black is the transition point between different modules of the game (which you may or may not have purchased).Maybe it’s a technical transition from foot to flight? I`m pretty sure that you have fade to black transitions there also.We got fully animated drop shipping from inside the cargo bay of ships, i wouldn't say it's practically impossible, if we can go out like that, the base is there.
There speaks someone who has never worked in marketing.I just don't believe that anyone could refer (multiple times) to an Armstrong moment with a hazy blue circle in the back of their minds.
Indeed, but it's better than nothing, it shows it's at least posssible to have animations playing, at least for coming out, now obviously, especially with the vast differences between ships, animating all of them to fit the correct exit would require some work, but i suppose it's still possible.I`m pretty sure that you have fade to black transitions there also.
