A bit baffled

Hi Cmdrs

I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with the ATUM System.... on entering the system my advanced discovery scanner showed two stars, two planets and an asteroid belt along with two platforms. On honking, it discovered 10 astronomical bodies...... ???

I journeyed out into the system as far as Bottego Hub platform 58,000 Ls out (farthest point) and nothing else showed up.... what am I missing here?

The asteroid belt contains a number of separate 'bodies'. If you include them in your nav filter you should see the appropriate number of selectable destinations.

Asteroid clusters from the belt? I always filter them because they're absolutely pointless, so maybe you did, too and that's why they don't show up.

Thanks commanders Rep+1x2
You are absolutely correct... my bad, didn't see the belt clusters as included in "bodies" discovered. You learn something every day!

The belts are absolutely pointless in ED

The kuiper belt in our system is huge, millions on km of rocks and asteroids...in ED you get 6 random rocks?

Surely they could make some gameplay out of these areas, pirate hideouts, mining opportunities (like a planetary ring), something, anything.

If you ever find six rocks orbiting that closely in our Kuiper Belt or main asteroid belt, your name would be all over the astronomy journals.

And we do already have asteroid bases.
