"A bit desperate."

"I’ve been trying for several hours to complete 2 weekly missions for Aisling in Powerplay:

  1. The first mission, 'Recover goods from acquisition systems': I can't figure out which goods to bring back.
  2. The second mission, 'Scan Megaships in reinforcement systems': I can’t scan the megaships with my data link scanner.
Do you have any ideas please ?"

For #1 I think this means any items you pull out of a "Powerplay Container" in ground settlements.

I haven't messed with megaships in a long time, so I don't really have any hints about #2 except that from what I vaguely remember the range on the DLS is absurdly short and you have to be almost touching the uplink before the DLS will work.

  • Select the m/s like you would a nav beacon. Scan it with the scanner (not like a Nav beacon).
  • Get closer until you see the Ship Uplink on the contacts Panel
  • After selecting the Ship Uplink get within around 200m and scan it with the scanner

You can only scan each m/s uplink once a week, subsequent attempts will fail.

Thank you I'll try

The factabulous rodent has it right. You scan the megaship but you also have to scan the ship log. I don't think the instructions tell you that part.

thanks but right now I can't even scan the megaship. I tried Mega ship and fleet carier. It can't be a plyer FC. I did it in reinforcement systems. I reach less than 3km open my hardpoint. The scanner is on reach but noting happen when I trigger. It's been a while I didn't played ED.

Don't know. I had one unscannable that was a landable megaship. The rest I just target then hold the scan button while the blue sheen finished up. Then you get closer and can see what the scan revealed.

I think I don't scan the good megaship. I'm thinking about joining a more combat oriented power 😅

Perhaps you could include a screenshot of the megaship scan assignment (preferably when viewing its details - if you can, but I'd assume so) to give people a better chance at pointing you in the right direction.

There are dockable and non-dockable megaships.
You're looking for the ones you can't dock at, which are referred to in inara's nearest station search as bulk cruisers: tankers, haulers, prison ships, etc.

They look like this in the left nav panel: 20241108185919_1.jpg

r u scanning the mega ship with you data scanner on approach, then as you close in check you contacts and the data links should show uo when close, then get close as poss to it scan with data scanner ,done a few seems to work.

You have to scan twice, first is an "interrogation" scan on the megaship to reveal the smaller parts that you can scan. Second is targeting those smaller parts and move closer to about 200m and scan them.

You're absolutely right. I'll take care of it on Monday when I get back. Thanks for your advice.

About the first mission: Regarding the power-specific goods to be collected from Odyssey stations in locked containers: In these ground stations, there are specific containers called 'power containers.' The easiest approach seems to be finding these stations in anarchic systems to avoid fines and a wanted status.
