Thing I find myself asking, erm, myself, is what were FDev actually
doing during the development cycle of Odyssey?
I mean, we need to put this all in perspective to fully understand what's happened here.
Most recently we had 18 months of "almost nothing", which we accepted on the understanding that FDev was focused on completing Odyssey.
Before that we had a year of "Beyond", which appeared after people started asking tough questions about DLC and the value of LEPs, and FDev justified it by pointing out that work had already begun on Odyssey an only a small sub-team was working on Beyond.
Before
that we had "influencer" visits to FDev HQ which proudly declared that FDev have a team of more than a hundred people working on ED and provoked questions about what they actually spend their time doing.
I'm not going to say I told you so but several years ago I said that this all reeked of a kid going out playing every day during the summer holiday and then doing all their homework on the night before the new school term starts.
When I look back at all the waffle about teams of 100 people, allegedly working on EDO for something like
three years, I struggle to take it seriously after witnessing the outcome.
And, to be clear, it's not just Odyssey I'm disappointed over.
It's all the OTHER stuff that's been delayed, set aside or overlooked, over the last three years, with the justification that FDev were working
on Odyssey so they didn't have time to fix/expand/create other stuff as well.
