How does a player faction go about removing a black market from its stations ?

You can do a huge amount of damage to a faction by smuggling illegal goods into their stations. Strangely, you also become allied with the faction you are undermining.

I agree that punishing players for playing is a bad tactic. But it would be fun if in a station where you have been smuggling a large amount of illegal goods, the authority gradually became more suspicious and more inclined to scan your ship. Smuggling is far too easy. I've often taken to smuggling in a Type-9 just to add a bit of challenge. Even then I only get scanned when I manage to jam myself in the mailslot.
Realistically smuggling should be completely irrelevant wrt your reputation unless you are caught - they the effect should be negative - that at least is in place - where you a bad smuggler Ben (as in you got caught and fined a lot) or was the act of secretly selling illegal goods a negative reputation hit

It's funny that it is actual the other way around.
If you smuggle illegal goods to the station, the owner faction loves you more and more and as soon as you are allied, you can take a nap in front of the mailslot and they won't scan you
There should be no effect to reputation at all (except maybe the anarchy faction in that system?) Because no one knows that you have selled illegal goods. Otherwise you should get a bounty afterwards if they found out.
Hello All,
Quick question about conflict zones, as I have not worried about them too much post 2.0.
Alioth Independents went to War with Ethgreze Inc in Ethgreze 29/01/3303 (i.e. I am guessing yesterday's tick), ending their expansion state. I had a look around every body, and could not see any conflict zones. Neither Ethgreze Inc or Allioth Indpendents own a stations our planetary bases in Ethgreze.
I know at the ehd of a war we have a ceasefire until the next tick, that catches a few players out. Is this the same with the start of a war? Is there a one tick delay for the conflict zones to form, or do I need to double check, make sure I am not going mad and raise a bug report if no conflict zones?
Cheers
Simon
is the war pending or active? a war has a countdown (as other states); cz spawn at the first tick of active war.

They sometimes take a few hours to spawn, and occasionally only spawn in some modes and not others - e.g. open not private group. We have seen them take up to 6 hours after tick to spawn, but more usually 2-3.
Thanks Schlack,
Normally the tick is around 18:00 UCS at the moment. Does anyone know what time the tick was yesterday, as to my reckoning that is 14 hours after when I visited each body in system?
I am still suspicious of seeing expansion news report and war new report on the same day (yesterday) though.
Simon
Depends on your location. It doesn't happen everywhere at the exact same time. In our space it was yesterday at 19:30 server time
How much is trade supposed to have effect?
I am testing effects of trade after the last fix, so I found a few remote systems with no traffic and very little population - one of them has just 23 people living in it! - and tried selling a single load of 250t in various combination. No effect. Now, 250t might not be much but in a system so microscopic I expected at least some movement, even if just 0.1%. Anyone know how it was before?
