A hundred freaking credits?!?!

What the hell am I supposed to do with that? Especially since the only mission available from the BB is to buy clothing which is more than 100 CR??

You get 1000 when you respawn ... darn multi induc's before I got disconnected ...

No big deal really, pick up 1 cargo quest and then you have 4k ...

Seriously, ridiculous starting conditions

Started out at Boese, with 100 CR that I mentioned previously. Pretty much no starting mission options except to buy algae which was more than 100 credits. Kind of defeats the purpose. So I buy 2 food carts for almost my entire loot. Fly to Binet, Roethgar (or something like that) and then to Mokosh trying to either a) get a good price for my goods or b) FIND A STARTING MISSION TO GET SOME MONEY!! None of these places had anything to offer. No missions and nobody could even give me a profit for my goods.

So I've just spent an hour basically flying around with crap that nobody wants. I know you intelligent folks are going to rip me, but I've played the beta for the past few weeks and it was much easier to get something going - at least it had a few missions for 500CR or so to get you something while you got your bearings. There's nothing like that now, from what I've seen at four different locations. C'mon Frontier. Loosen up the purse strings or something. Some of us don't have 10 hours a day we can devote to this otherwise great game.

Those are my first impressions of Gamma so far.

I've been playing since the servers went up, and I am worth over 120k. I started with 100 credits too. It's not hard, hell I made over 3k just scanning the system next door.

No problems here. 1 mission for 2.5K available to transport to next system which I have already done. Makes the original Elite look way more difficult. Sounds like random starting position can be really nasty though if you land in the wrong place.

Handy hint: fly around with an empty hold in the starting system and investigate all the USS's. I found tech blueprints worth a bundle, about 1800 each, at the second one. Found superconductors floating in the wreckage of a Lakon 9 at the fourth.

I guess you could just wipe your save and start somewhere else. First location I started at offered 7500C to drop off some cargo nearby.

Just fly to another sodding station, it is not hard, if you are lucky you pick up exploration data on the way and net a couple of K when you get there. So many bloody crybabies making mountains out of mole hills in these forums.

Wow that sounds great so the ship was drifting?

Same starting point (so much for random!)
No missions and goods too expensive to trade... flew to Binet to see if they had anything.

Biowaste to Reilly Dock, then Algae from Reilly back to Binet... just changing up to Clothing when the servers went down.

It is not a friendly awakening in Gamma when we are all used to starting in a decent location with 1000cr, but it is doable, just check out a few of the stations in the system.

First mission, one jump, 4500 CR. And when taking mission I've discovered, that I have something in cargobay. Sold it for 1.500. So in first 10 minutes, 6.000 Cr. What disturbs me most is 3 interdictions in 4 jumps.
