A Lavigny-Duval Cycle Two Target Discussion

Undermining is enjoyable! I've never played this way before, interdicting ships and whatnot, it's fun! the 15 merits a kill is nice too. Much more efficient than farming in the kill zones.

Another update:

We've gotten Yab Camalo down to 10th place! HIP 21778 is up to 9th!

This is absolutely brilliant everyone. Our Preparation List is looking awesome.

Keep going with HIP 21778 and soon we'll have Peraesii and Yab Camalo down to the bottom, and then we can move on to replacing them with TELIADJALI and KALIVUNIUN.

Earlier today a system named Biliri was proposed to be prepared, but a system next to it has much more value and the station is closer to the sun. Is there a reason to prepare Biliri over UGP 120?

UGP 120
Expansion Cost: 181 CC
Radius Income: 155 CC
Upkeep: 26 CC
Potential Profit: 129 CC
Nearest Station: 260 LS (Amundsen City, Large)

Both you and fergal are the main reason for this. You've given us exactly what we needed. Direction and purpose.

Thats looks like a really good system.

Up there is a bit of green. Biliri is towards our territory, so we could still get a valuable system after we take it.
Biliri is also a patronage system, which means its easier for us to expand to, and fortify.

Might be better to take UGP 120 though, since its income is so high. The 181 preparation cost is also high but that shouldn't bother us.

I'll add it to the list.

Its either Biliri or UPG 120 as they are within 15 LS of each other.

Progress UPG 120: 120 Merits

You might be better working on Teliadjali, Kalivunian.

No-one on reddit has probably heard of UPC 120. I'll add it to the discussion list there too.

Just updating the main post again, you guys are smashing it with HIP 21788

Yeah, my bad, it's Torval. Like I said, it looks to me like a grab they shouldn't be making, location wise. We are going to get boxed in, and I don't get why Arissa supporters are ok with that.

Since it's space, we are going to get 'boxed in' in the sense that we are going to have to travel silly distances to expand, through other powers' territory, and that will make it much, much harder to support, since it will be so far away from our HQ. That's also partly why I don't support the "Key" operation. I hope they have enough people to keep that fortified every week.

So far, we have had no trouble fortifying anywhere. Soon, the non-grinding players will have to start focusing on fortifying the far flung regions. And when week 5 rolls around, we'll see how many pilots defect once they have the Imperial Hammer. And honestly? There is every possibility the expansion there won't be successful. It being so far away, and a democracy, the Trigger Point could well be in the high thousands.

As for having to fly through other imperial powers' space to get to our systems? Honestly, it's space. That shouldn't be an issue.

It does seem like a land grab from Torval, we have 2 options right now. Wait to see where the other imperial faction try to prepare and try to out prepare them there, or expand unopposed.
We tried out preparing last time.

I don't think Kaliki boxes us in, its another problem for Patreus. Its right on his door.

Glese 3258 on the other hand does box us in. Its only worth 33 CC to them, is it a rare good system or something? Anyone know what the appeal is or Glese 3258?

As a side note, look at the garbage thats happening to Archon Delaine.
Go see Wu Chelki. I LMAO when I saw it. FD needs to sort something out.

I'm not sure what happens if you oppose the expansion by stealing 'Toval Deeds' and both goals are met (expansion and opposition). Since the counter for opposition is stuck at 0, I have no clue how it's going either way.

Right now, I feel like there's nothing really to do. It gets that way after a day or so, when everything we need to do is done. *shrug*

On Gliese 3258:

I dunno. It's a 2.3 Billion pop, 4 starport 'Wealthy, Very Large Agriculture' (also has tourism, and another two starports 415,000 LS out...yikes) with a black market. I am going to change from FdL to my Conda anyway, so I can swing by and check the starport with Agriculture to see what's up.

If the opposition has a higher percentage at the end of the cycle then the expansion is blocked. There's a good argument for opposing Kaliki on the basis of locality.

Look to see what you can do to undermine Hudson and Winters.

On Gliese 3258:

I doubt that Torval will manage to prepare it this cycle, but that means that she's more likely to focus on it next cycle. It's certainly an option for us to prepare this cycle.

it's normal to get bounties for doing undermining right? At this rate i'll be at a 500k bounty before the days over with. :D

Yeah, I racked up about 500k overall bounty on my head, Undermining against Hudson last weekend in Sol. I'd never had a proper bounty on me before, I would always immediately pay them off. But it's actually really fun!

And because you're only Wanted by (usually) the controlling Minor Faction in the system you committed the crime (I was wanted by Sol Federal Congress), you are still Clean at, and can still use any of the Stations controlled by alternative Minor Factions. So I could still use Mars High (Mother Gaia) and once I dropped near the Station it showed me as Clean. You can still repair, rearm, etc no problems.

Look, Imperial factions are not directly hostile towards us, and Torval is our most direct Imperial competitor, but that doesn't necessarily make her an enemy, just a potential enemy. If the station has a black market and great trade, do we want to Control it? It might make a great place for our smugglers to hide out in. Or our bounty hunters who sometimes pick a little off the top.

Has anyone gone through our systems to see if we exploit any Black Markets that are still active?

Still going well in HIP 21778; we're within touching distance of 10k reports:

Once we see it has reached 10,000 corruption reports delivered, I think we should move onto the next on the hit-list: TELIADJALI:

Only 3 short hops from our HQ at Kamadhenu.

After that, we only get one more, so should those on the far side of the territory start hitting Kalivunian? Or do we stick with one target at a time?
