A bit further to the galactic west of Sol there are the beta systems, of course, which actually when you look at them again are a pretty good place to set up. The reason, besides the Eranin Whisky, is variety of systems, and about halfway between Sol and the Chemaku starting area.

I've been hanging around Ho Hsi quite a bit recently with the neogaf-inspired civil war going on there, and there are a wide variety of systems in that area two including two hi tech systems right next to each other and a beautiful system called Aeternitas with multiple terraformed worlds and a high population.

The homebase in Warwick is alright - they've got a decent selection of Habitat tiling if that's your thing. I prefer wallpaper.

I agree with all of that except "RARE ITEM" as they are too tempting to just say to yourself "I'll only do one run, honestly". Then before you know it you're spent 3 hours earning 2 to 3 million credits. Sounds good, but boy is it tedious.

I'd rather just play in my 40 LY back garden and see what opportunities arise. I only make 250,000 credits in the same time, but the fun factor increases by at least 100%

EDIT:
I'd say any place is good, just bob about until you find a good match. If you're bounty hunting make sure you've got all Alliences within 40 LY's then it's easy to claim your rewards. Plus you can then get ranks in all of them. :D

Where have you made your "Home" in the Galaxy ?

Could be interpreted as where you hang your hat, where you keep all your ships in one place, or the station you come back to because of the view, anything.

Curious to know which system and station you consider as "home" :)

my home is where my Cobra is. Have drifted since I started, just keep moving on, dont have what I call a home. Although once my Cobra is fully upgraded and I buy a new ship, wherever I store my maxxed Cobra will be home.

Currently Bartini Enterprise in CF 464. It's a high tech Empire system with some pretty decent equipment. It's right next to Delta Phoenicis which is where I begin my loop when running rares (something I've not done since getting a Lakon 7). it's next to a decent mix of agriculture, refinery and industry systems so there are some pretty decent trading opportunities. And it's a shortish hop over to either Achenar or Tarach Tor (for all your high-tech , black market anarchy system needs).

The only downside is that I don't see a great many players out there. A few, but not many.

My exploration cobra is sat waiting in Kagatsuchi (spelling?) and I'm still planning on heading out into the void, once I know they've fixed the server issues (I'm still missing all my scan data)

...I've been messing about near Peregrina for the last week trying to get my rep up enough for a permit so I can see what this whole Plague World / Alien Artifacts thing is about, but there's sod all jobs and I don't have the money to do it via trading (I've got 2 cobras and about 400k credits)

I just love this system for many reasons.

Though, since the Federation is just a bunch of capitalistic iPhone hipsters (like our real world) I will seek a nice place for myself somewhere in the Empire, I guess.

I plan to roam around a lot, but my heart belongs to the Alliance - so I will probably hang around in those system more than the rest.

I'm holed up in Rakapila. I've got 2 stations (one near my killing grounds and the other a few minutes away) and a planetary ring with mining spots (my killing grounds). Healthy paychecks aplenty!
