A POTENTIAL LEAD (Message from Professor Alba Tesreau, former Head of Research of Aegis)

Yeah, too late anyway. Kinda salty because I missed the first occasion since I stopped following Salvation CG because I didn't want to follow him. So I missed the news about the other CG. Which is ironic.
And I didn't want to join the meta alloy because it was a real grind. Didn't know you could get in with a single meta alloy, I thought you'd had to get 75% minimum. Plus I didn't know they were still doing the exclusive mail list again.

I just wish picking the log would get us on the mail list, or add some mission to deliver whatever to palin or such to join in.
I did the meta alloy thing recently and didn't get the message yesterday. But made no difference, went to the system and the site and listened to the logs. Worth it.

You wouldn't get any rewards, unless there are some for the 100% band. But you took part, which may matter in overarching stories.

It specifically says "I've kept the records of those Commanders who supported Aegis's work in the past.". I think it was that one cg where you had to choose between salvation and aegis, and those who supported aegis got the message. You didnt get on the cool commanders list if you delivered meta alloys in the last cg. You needed to be pro aegis in a specific cg in the past.

The entire azimuth/salvation story arc is someone who wants to expose salvation. The witch wont expose himself, someone else does that. Maybe its Alba personally, maybe someone else.

The Cg was delivering experimental weapon in huge quantity from a station to a megaship of taurus mining ventures (those who help salvation).
And at same time, there was a hidden CG where Ram Tah asked some samples too in order to understand how the weapon works. People who brang them to Ram Tah had Alexandria TIP and this one too.

Being a Colonia resident for much of the time I didn't take the opportunity to join in at the time, but will 'follow' the story from scanning the data available in the system.

It will be interesting to see if, in the coming weeks, this story develops further - I have one 'new' account resident in the bubble now, so might be able to join in the fun.

So a Caleb or w/e is the witch who is also salvation and all provided with an ingame log sequence. How poor this all is. After all these rumors and exitations in the past regarding the identity of this person. And again: players were not involved to find him. They issued a message, took another settlement blueprint and led us there to read some other logs. I am tired of this way the game is handled by FDev.

And my tiredness was feeded further today: I just jumped back to Upaniklis and was expecting much activity around the Dredger and the new Golconda with a shiny outfit. Nothing - I say nothing - is happening there. Both ships are hanging around, the logs are as empty as before and even the engines of the Golconda are still dead - not as it is with other megaships where the engines are running in standby. How sloppy this all is at the moment, it comes close to an offense as they really think they can dupe us with these Galnets and ingame logs.

Awww, muffin.

They could also provide something interesting for EDO owners like cutting panels to enter derelict buildings, powering up dead terminals for bits of lore, etc. Nope. Just continue to keep Odyssey completely irrelevant and wonder why more people don’t want to buy it.

I see this as a very positive thinking not excluding the Horizons players from the story and not promoting EDO as pay-to-win
damned if they do, damned if they dont

Im not saying to include anything critical, just something interesting like exploring creepy derelict building or something with some nice atmosphere. Bits of lore could be background information on factions involved while being irrelevant to the current story, things like that. Hardly pay to win, It’s not like I’m asking to find secret blueprints for triple engineered modules.

How else can you ever entice people to pay for your DLC?

But they cant without being chastised as making EDO pay2win and/or excluding Horizons players.
Currently there are 2 types of assets (settlements in this case): horizons assets, accessible to anyone and odyssey assets, accessible to EDO players only
There is no middleground 🤷‍♂️

Again, it’s not pay to win because it doesn’t give you a gameplay advantage. They had Thargoid content available by SRV only for Horizons users.

Also, weren’t engineers only available to Horizons? That’s not pay to win?

What I’m asking for is nowhere near that.

...and they got shafted for it.
But even so times were better back then because anyone could buy Horizons and not only buy it, also play it.
Now EDO is not available on consoles and is not really playable on some of the PC Potatoes than can still decently run Horizons.

Edit:
They got some flak even after EDO for ground CZ paying too much in Combat CG and they were considerate enough not only to try to avoid this as much as possible, they even attempted to block Ground CZ in a previous Combat CG (they failed, but the intention did matter), not to mention that the latest CG was set in a system with no settlements

Okay, fine. So like I said originally, they can just continue to keep Odyssey completely irrelevant, and wonder why more players don’t want to buy it, and players can continue complaining about why things don’t change or why nothing new ever gets added to the game.

I don't want to intrude in all this Odyssey / Horizons discussion... but this topic wold not be more usefull for peaple like me, who started to play only after all the CGs to help Aegis or Salvation to follow the thread of the current history, instead of be one more battleground for peaple to runt about the current state of the game development? (don't get me wrong, we all can complain as much as we want about the current states of things, but not in ALL of the forum posts)

I wish I was not excluded of the Aegis personal newsletter because I missed a CG months ago. Missed a good chunk of "hidden" lore cg back then. And almost missed that one. Dunno if the meta alloy CG counted recently, but people were farming that one so hard I didn't do it either. 75% was 46, that's 23 relog....

I feel it's a bit too exclusive for my taste. We should be able to get on board if we scan the log or something.

On the bright side, since I stopped supporting Salvation a while ago, he doesn't send me mail either.
Just logged on and found I, too, am excluded.
Oh well.

As I was driving about the ruin, that thought occurred to me. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to get out and wander about in the ruined buildings to look for clues.

Frontier really need to get a little braver in presenting content that includes on-foot elements, after all, up until Horizons was given to everyone who didn't own it, there was exclusive Horizons content and ships, EDO should be no different.
