A QOL Call to Arms

As the title makes abundantly clear, this post has nothing to do with RP. This is purely Quality of Life. Now that it's covered, the details:

I've caught wind of some errant plans to UA bomb stations under the control of Sirius Coporation, and while my RP believes they could be involved with all the shadowy puppeteering, I feel that this is a bit harsh. With the influx of all these new players on PS4, a lot of engineer grinding is happening. Shutting down stations controlled by Sirius will halt all further activity in gaining access to Marco Qwent, who we all know is required to reach Palin for the CRCRs. While doing the Alien activities with 2 AFMUs is possible, it's inconvenient (and a waste of module space).

Without access to stations where gaining Sirius rep is possible, the potential to drive new and veteran players away from the game is plausible. How would you feel if somebody did this to you? The plan is simple, combat those who want to see these stations shut down by bringing in MAs to Sirius owned stations. Keep in mind, this isn't RP based. If Sirius wasn't required to access Qwent, I could care less. But for the new players grinding for him, I care. Join me, or not, I'll be running them regardless.

I'm outraged by the behavior of these players groups.

Groups mobilized a blocked in Sothis space killing players in open, becouse Serius Corp ?????

No they just like gank players , I warn to avoid that area is a mass now.

Well said OP.

While I was curious what was going to happen to begin with story wise, I now just don't care.

Not because I dislike story content, but because Fdev haven't given me something relatable. I feel like they threw stuff at the fan and hoped it would stick. But most of what I'm seeing is just political sides sniping each other. I'm all for Fed/imp banter as an example, but now it's like 'no, your lying' and 'No! Your lying!', and I really couldn't care less.

It's less a mystery I'm waiting to see the conclusion of, and more 'he said, she said' that feels like it's trying to mirror life. Firstly I play games to get away from life, not to be indoctrinated by them whenever we see the conclusion of this storyline, and secondly, politics as a whole has descended into moral righteous hell and I really don't want Fdev to fall into that pit.

Stories are about characters and escapism, not pushing your message/agenda on us, whatever that is.

I can't even go back to just playing the game as a freelance without being accused of picking sides...

....uggghhhh.....

I'm just repeating myself at this point, but UA bombing should have been removed as soon as it had served its story purpose.

Is it not impossible to UA bomb a station with no black market?

Surely not all Sirius corp aligned stations have black markets.

It's quite a nuke, but the groups that have been supplying MAs seem to have done pretty well lately.

I've developed a bit of a soft spot for Sirius.
Their strategic position seems a bit jammed between the Feds on one hand, who are keen to limit the number of systems Sirius is in. (Inc/Corp - I can never keep this straight) Enough to keep the permit available, but not allowed to expand like a healthy supported group; and on the other Frontier ignore their in-game problems and make them a shadowy villain, getting the RP and lore crew against them. I'm never sure about UA bombers. The Mad Bomber seems to have a moveable feast of reasons to bomb. I assume he enjoys it and looks for justification. This new mob seem to be coming from the RP first perspective and "BGS by any means necessary".

Unfortunately I may have directed them to The Mad Bomber on Reddit, assuming that any half sensible person would find him toxic. Unfortunately they seem to have found kindred spirits.

I believe the Sirius Player Groups have more resources than the UA bombers, but the UA groups don't have home systems to defend. "When you've got nothing, you've got nothing to lose."

I wouldn't be so concerned if it weren't for the newer players. With such a large number of PS4 players, most of them will be looking for Qwent and Palin sooner than later, and if I was a new player the last thing I'd want to see is that an already difficult engineer is practically impossible due to the actions of RP players. I am an RP player, but I know when to let things go in the interest of Quality of Life for other commanders.

Maybe they're UA bombing those stations to protest how ridiculously grindy and random RNGineering is.

We should encourage UA bombing every 'engineer' (honestly, they should be called croupiers, not engineers. It's literally gambling, after all), and hope that FD replaces it with something that makes more sense than the idiocy they pawned off on us in 2.1 as 'crafting'.

Well, that is what happens in dynamic games that players can affect. Best you can do is gather people to work against the UA bombing, you can prevent it shutting down stations.

If players are able to successfully deny a path to Quint and Palin and Frontier does nothing about it then shame on Frontier.

I agree that we should collectively kick a ganker's butt they harm a new player, but this is a different mess which Frontier created and they should fix.

Do you want a sandbox where players affect the galaxy, or do you want off-limit areas where player actions don't count? I know what I prefer...

Meta-alloys should be your answer (as the OP suggested), not petition the hand of God/the developer.

Here, here - well said.

Wow, a lot of people really care about this! So, I guess you'll all be following the OPs advice and delivering MAs to the Sirius stations right? Right?

I even had to deal with what appeared to be the remnants of UA bombing in the vicinity of the Sothis-Ceos run. I just want people to take the initiative to say "Hey that's wrong, the new players don't deserve that right off the bat." Just set up a nice AspX and join in! Plus MAs are worth a butt-ton.
