A question about neutron and FSD boosts

A simple question for you full time explorers! I am looking to return out into the black it's been a good year since I did my colonia deep space exploration run. I do enjoy exploring but it's the initial trip out that annoys me and bores me. Once I'm out I love it and I don't mind the return journey either. I have an ASP and Conda pretty much ready to go.

So my question is now that we have the guardian fsd booster, neutron boosts and the synthesis fsd boost is it possible to string together lots of 200-300 light year jumps from the bubble easily? What I'm asking could one whack on an fsd boost at a neutron star jump to another neutron and rince and repeat and knocked out several thousand light years very quickly?

There is the Neutron Highway you could use, but this only applies about 6000ly from Sol. The density of neutron stars isn't high enough in the bubble to do this.

Don't forget to pack an AFM, as every neutron-assisted jump wears your FSD down by about 1%, and if it gets below ~85% or so it could fail. So you need to repair it regularly if neutron jumping a lot.

The answer to your question is yes, subject to being in the right region of space as Speccy points out. Just tick the 'use jet cone boosts' option in the route plotter tab in the galaxy map and plot away. It even incorporates fuel stars into your route automatically.

There are two things of which you should be aware. Firstly, ensure that you have deselected white dwarf stars and ticked the 'plot route using filtered stars' option (or whatever it is called, I can't remember right now). White dwarves give you only a 50% boost (vs 300% for neutrons); furthermore, their jet cones are barely larger than their exclusion radii, meaning it is really easy to get killed trying to supercharge from a white dwarf. My advice would be to avoid them like the plague.

Secondly, on the topic of staying alive, be sure to use the correct technique to approach and fly through the neutron star jet cones. Done properly, it's as safe as houses; get cocky and you'll be dead quicker than a noob in an SDC special. There's a picture at this link that shows how to do it properly (sorry it won't paste in properly here):https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/5738sk/slingshotting_a_comprehensive_guide_to/

You can't stack a FSD boost from synthesis with that from a neutron star or white dwarf, otherwise it's as has been said above - bring a AFMU and repair your FSD since when it gets below 80% you'll risk malfunctions. There are plenty of neutron stars to be found outside the Galactic Plane once you're closer to the Galactic Core, so after getting clear of the bubble you can head down about 900-1000LY and then you'll get more neutron stars when you plot your routes.
.
If you want to practise closer to the bubble, you can use Jackson's Lighthouse, which is quite easy to get a boost from. The slowly-spinning wispy cones tend to be harder to get the boost from than the really rapidly-spinning ones (like Burnell's Pulsar). Jackson's Lighthouse is in between the two extremes.
