Its still a never ending cycle everyday players screaming about op ships blowing them up. op players screaming about being blown up by cheaters it never ends. It is this back and forth that makes me proud to play in solo. I love this game and all space games when this game was being pitched I was well into X3TC while waiting for my funds to grow to build another factory to build ships I saw that FD started a YouTube video updates pulling me in I played and watched then heart broke when I found out my pc would not run Elite that was back in the windows XP days. Then it launced on ps4 and I bought it day one. and two lessons I learned while waitng to play were dont fly with out rebuy never fly in open. served me well to this day. now about the cheating. yes I am aganst it with all my heart. Im a old school black and white guy when it comes to rules. so I belive any hacks into the code of the game is cheating and should spawn a modified tag on you game at launch so if you changed any ini. file boom tag. everyone knows you cheated Im sorry if you love a blue hud but you broke the rules. Now if any file hacking is going to be allowed then it should be allowed in open only but at the risk of in open the background sim is not live. I know hate me, but as the game is now it is just a op ship vs op ship shooter game where everyone ducks in to privite group or solo to rebuild the credits lost or to build a better ship.

Mate, you can always play with your friends in private group. It's the most fun.

Try playing with your friends in Open Play. That can be incredible and shouldn't be so easily surrendered because some chumps want to cheat. Combat loggers, hackers, trainer users? It's time to bring the hammer down and cause some pain.

Anyway, love what Replicant and Ryan are saying here lately. Keep it up, y'all.

Sadly even in private group you can't escape the cheaters in this game. You will feel the effects even in solo.

How will you feel the effects in solo?
He was probably speaking of PP and BGS cumulative effects. But that's just rubbish. It's the worst part of Elite. The flaw inherited from other MMOs. The mindless competition in open, against people that you don't know. There's a hidden click inside the minds of these players, and they just don't know how to play without it.
I'll say this a thousand times if needed: private group PvP. Create one with your friends. Like a table-top role playing session. And don't forget the beer and snacks.

How is it rubbish?

How would you like it if another player was waging a BGS war against you and was hiding in solo and cheating their way to victory?

BGS and Powerplay, for all their faults, have provided some of the most rewarding gameplay Elite has to offer. Plenty of folks here can attest to that.

Frankly, the defeatism inherent in your posts is tiresome. Makes one wonder if they're not shilling for the cheaters.

In May whem all of this come to the public light I make a post and followed the news for some days, as FDEV wasnt taking it seriously I quited for a while.
One month later and a thousound posts all FDEV has to say is nothing new and nothing concrete on thei supposed "war" on cheaters.

Maybe ill check back in another month or so.

Elite needs a anti cheat engine ...... and that ASAP
Which can be hacked and cheated as well... to some degree. Anything you put into your machine, can be changed to report whatever you want.

I so remember the old AutoCAD hardware dongle and the hacks of it.

The only way would be to have validation routines outside of the cheaters computer. The servers acknowledge and authenticate every action and compare to expected results, or have every player do that for all other players in the instance, which could be done, but would hog processing time.

is the same for a solo player playing aganst open or pve players only the odds are aganst the solo player who dosent use cheats he just liks playing alone no cheating there. unles a cheat engine was fond in his game then boom ban. playing in solo is not cheating.

Thats not what I am saying. I am just using that scenario as an example. But sadly the majority of these cheaters are in solo and thats what they are using these cheats for the most. Exploiting to gain an advantage in BGS and Powerplay Activities.
Why risk being discovered by another player in open when all you can do is jump in solo mode and cheat all day long?

BGS and Powerplay. These cheats are not only being used to get a edge in pvp, but they are being used to further BGS and Powerplay activities.

But you have no idea if its cheats or not.

And there isn't much difference i think between running a cheat or not when working the BGS. They might make deliveries a bit quicker, kill ships a bit quicker, run some missions a bit quicker, but that's about it.

There are bots that run powerplay merits 24/7 on both sides and were developed by the cheat dev I wrote about. They had a whole section of the discord dedicated to automation. Think about how much work a team of cutter running merits 24/7 on a multiboxed machine could do.

Are you kidding? One dedicated cheater could do the work of several pilots. Take a conflict zone, for example. Crank up your lasers and smoke all the NPCs you need in moments. Rinse and repeat without ever needing to return to base.

Use your head and stop downplaying like this.

It's only my opinion. But just remember that it was inevitable. Open competition always lures the wrong side of the crowd. Hackers and cheaters were fated to come.

According to the information given by FD, all players have daily limits to how much they can influence both PP and BGS. A cheater could do the daily work of two players, maybe, if they were lazy. I haven't tested this, and maybe only FD staff can explain it in detail, but I think that a player must "work" for a few hours to reach this daily limit. So, what if a cheater reaches this limit in 5 minutes? He is just spoiling his own game time.
