Nonsense! Erik can ride home in a taxi like everyone else.
Thank you,
I have a lot of respect for all of you who come up with something every week, not as easy as I thought it would be. Used to love writing stories when I was at school but they used to be double the required length all the time. Thought I had nailed this one on the first try ran the word count and found it to be close to 300. Keeping stories short is not my forte.
The 100 words is a pain lol. Often I have edited out something but its still in my head as there. Its not until its read out you realise - I edited out something essential for this to make sense...100 words sounds so easy until you try it. I tend to use a lot of contractions like it's and there's. It can help when you are trying to squeeze in that extra word, but you can also de-contract them if you find that you're a word or two short. Assume prior knowledge, we're all Elite fans and know what a Cobra or a Coriolis looks like so there is no need to describe them unless it's important to the plot.
Thanks everyone for posting your Drabble tips lots of good advise that I have taken on board.
The only thing I need to sort out now is my terrible memory and remember to check the thread every week so I can take part.

The topic this week is so good it's managed to produce 3 Drabbles that can't be fitted into the poll... <erm> Those three Drabbles are all so perfectly written it would've been impossible to say which was the best. Everybody would have given them their three votes and so they would have all tied in first place, each with a score of 100%.
Does the 20 option limit still apply these days? We made that the rule because of the limitation of the old forum's polling system.
Thank God Chuck Norris didn't enter a drabble he would get every vote. (Sorry wrong thread)

Another bonus drabble. Not been around much as RL keeps interdicting me
A different Type of Fuel:
Cmdr Rossan was running low on fuel, he had been all day. He struggled on hour after hour hoping to get to his destination or find a place to refuel.
But time caught up. Out of fuel he found himself in the middle of no where.
In desperation, with time running out, he hit the distress button.
With the call to the Rats transmitted, all he could do was wait.
Minutes later his saviours arrived. Refuelled, he thanked them for saving him.
Satisfied he left, allowing the Gruel Rats to leave and help another poor Cmdr who forgotten their breakfast.
It's a good job Chuck Norris doesn't enter the contest.. He'd get 300%
