Still time for a few more 100 word entries.

Come on everybody - do something useful at work this afternoon, knock up a story with the vague theme of 'Industrial Parts'.

;)

I was planning on doing the poll tonight, seeing as I'll be on holiday for the next 3 thursdays.

Unless someone else really wants to take charge of the spangly jacket?

And just a note about my drabble for this week. Once having succumbed to the dark side, it becomes progressively more difficult to resist.

No worries sir, you sir? I have it all spreadsheeted, I could pm you the forum post if you want for the poll.

Time to buy a lotto ticket

The Boxes laid hidden, covered by a thick layer of dust, it had been this way for decades.
Floating in a hulk in the middle of an asteroid field, lost seemingly forever.
Today was to be very different, another ship.. damaged from a fight, weapons damaged.
It spots the hulk and slows and stops, small humans float from the ship to the hulk and disturb the boxes slumber, the dust stirring and billowing up around its assailants.
Back in the damaged salvager a commander opens boxes and smiles at his incredible fortune.
In dust, Rail parts to fix his weapons.

Birthday Surprise

Tibsson McCormick continued to view the loading process for the 187th birthday celebrations of the exceptionally long-lived dread Pirate Lord. So far, the holds of the Anaconda were filled with pallets of corn-flour, eggs, gelatine, fruit and hydrogenated butterfat. The only things left were thousands of little sugar balls and 2 tonnes of a poisonous plant called vanillo. Tibbson had queried this last item with the Anaconda’s Captain. However, the Captain had insisted “The order stays as submitted! My uncle, the Pirate Lord is a man to be trifled with”. Tibbson almost queried the missing “not” but decided against it.

The colours do add something to the entry list ;)

Nice work Psykokow, and what a brilliant pun. Some say there's beauty in the perfection of mathematics. I say that this can be true of wordplay as well... You have written the Mona Lisa of puns.

Phew! should be all good now, had to work it out but good to go...if any problems let me/us know :)

Apologies for my rookie mistake of my drabble not actually mentioning anything about industrial parts. In the rush to get the story submitted I missed the small, but highly crucial, fact that all references to these had been cut to get the word count down. I'll try harder next time.

Updated the list and had a bit of a play and seperated the 1st post as it was starting to get a bit big.

If you mad Drabblers don't like it let me know and I can easily change it back. :D

And as ever good luck to the latest entries.

I was going to post this for last week's drabble but couldn't come up with a title:

Once, similar to the Sol system's Mus musculus, but now mutated into nightmarish, slavering abominations by their constant exposure to the leaking, toxic detritus scattered around Slough, the creatures advanced with a single burning craving to feed. Always appearing in the same linear formation. Three on point, a single larger specimen (a warrior sub-species?), four more, another warrior, then five more after that and so the line continued ad-infinitum. An irrational number of groups seemed to be missing. Simon prepared to leave and head to safety. “This world's fate is sealed, not mine” he thought. “I still have my recipes”
