Active Discounts thread

i was buying an explorerconda in "LTT 15449/Binet Port" last night, 28 JUN 3001 - 23:15 Game Time, and they had all the conda armour there then. alloy 47Mc, military 106Mc, mirror 250Mc, reactive 277Mc.
awesome, thx for the info!

Not to hijack this thread, which was, I think, not even meant for discussion but just to post locations and discounts - but for your use, what is the advantage of exploring in an Anaconda over the ASP...? The ASP should sure be faster at turning away from neutron stars and black holes etc... Unless its just a real short answer I'd much appreciate a pm ^^

Throttle to zero when the jump countdown starts = no Neutron/Black Hole problem with any ship.

Anaconda for the jump distance win.

Not a problem I really don't mind any discussions in other directions as long as they don't go on for about 10 pages :)

Exploration Conda is basically the ability to get certain places the ASP can't. Or be able to explore with a more combat style loadout*. It also has capacity for extra heat sinks and AFMU's for the longest of trips but I kinda agree that the ASP turn rate is much nicer.

Add heat sinks and AFMU's to suit. Can still make a good 30LY with a combat loadout to kill any NPC's and put off the less aggressive players.

thx much for the loadout! still 30 LY with all that stuff! :D

I just tested 7A, 7D and 6A thrusters on my trading conda, which is almost the same setup as an exploration conda anyways. I found the 6D thrusters lost all of 1 m/s max speed and 2 m/s boost speed vs the 7D thrusters at half the module weight (tested with 452t full cargo), and while the 8D distributor may beat a 6A distributor for total stats, the 6A still lets you boost continuously. (might be much worse for powering weapons though, didn't test that) And of course, This Conda is fiercely more expensive than a totally maxed out exploration ASP :p

Max boost speed is yes, not a big difference. BUT... Try moving that ship around a belt with anything other then A and get back to me. If you have the credits, get the A. Especially at the discounted rate.

I can say that with 3 pips to weapons the full pulse laser turrets are infinite. Can probably downgrade to 7D or 6A and still get good response, I just like the 3 pips to shields 1 to weapons that I currently run for extended pulse turret bursts :) Considering swapping 2 of the turrets to beams though but im not sure at the moment.

Just wanted to say thanks to the posters here, downgrade/selling everything then rebuying netted me 42mil, easiest profit ever!

A trading or exploration ship won't be going around any belts. And I found maneuverability around stations was not compromised either - I remember because I was really surprised, testing with full cargo to make the Conda as heavy as it would be for trading. I have the credits, but I don't have jump range to waste.

The point where your statement becomes correct is a combat fitted Conda which ends up with more mass than a cargo Conda. Thruster effectiveness only gets compromised when ship mass rises beyond the thruster's rated optimal mass. As long as you stay in the supported range, the advantage of the bigger / higher rated thrusters is absolutely minimal and not worth the added mass imo.

Ah, good advice and detail!

Back on subject, The 20% discount in Hudson "Control Systems" is still active as of JUNE 30, 3301, 11:28, just bought some stuff.

You are welcome Sir Derath!
In exchange, I copied your awesome Python loadout, found in another thread :D
The two class 3 cannons are sooooooo slow by the way...

Last night I traded my Type 9 Heavy for an Anaconda at LTT 15449. Binet dock. Grabbed my A-FSD from my Type 9, and decked it out with 452 tons of cargo space. Conda gets me 20ly full of cargo. Holy guacamole baby.

That's three ships I've gotten from the Hudson Discount.

Vulture
Python
Anaconda

Get them while they're hot kids!

Also, mods please sticky this thread!! Commanders must know!

Slow at traveling, fast at killing powerplants ;)
And I bet they overheat the Python not nearly as fast as some other stuff :D

My most recent 'lazy' Python setup are 2 medium beam turrets (turrets also being less bad on heat generation, but still killing the small fry I don't feel like doing a turning match with) and 3 large pulses. I tried with 2 large beams, 1 large beam and either way I overheat too quickly, so went back to 3 pulses. (don't feel like docking for ammo all the time)

I'll give them another chance, but I had serious issues to hit PP... lots of missed shots: you need to be very close.
I usually go with a "medium shield-melt" setup: 2 Large Pulses Gimbo, 1 Large Beam Fixed, 2 Rails. The 2 Large Pulses are very DPS effective with PPs IMO.
End OT. :D

Is Hudson Discount over? I can only find the FDL for 46,410,336 in his space? is that only a 10% discount?

Read the Thread carefully:
20% in Hudson's Controlled Systems
10% un Hudson's Exploited Systems

But perhaps FD changed it this morning? Have you tried in Bhritzameno? It was there at 20% a few hours ago.
