Add a "Mapped" status icon in Navigation Panel for bodies

It would be helpful to show in the Navigation panel whether or not a planet has been mapped. Currently, (post Chapter 4 drop), using the Nav Panel to determine the best order (closest body to head to next) to map planets, you also have to view the System Map to determine whether the planet has already been mapped. If there was an indicator, much like the blue "landable" icon that appears in the Nav list this would be much easier/faster. Previously, when determining the optimal order to scan planets, the fact that an object was "Undiscovered" was the clue as to whether or not you had "been there" and one could quickly determine the next place to go to continue the system survey, having such an indicator would be ideal.

I was going to ask the exact same thing.
The only way to discern the planets I've already mapped from the ones that still need mapping is go to the system map, select details tab, and hover the planet in question.
An icon or a symbol (+) in the line of a mapped (or unmapped) planet in the Navigation Panel would be a great addition.

This is now the third suggestion I found requesting this, which shows how important it is, I would like this too.

Why not think outside the box. And map your own stars. We only mapped .06% of the galaxy. Look at the most direct route of major locations and go outside that route.

Certainly a useful suggestion in general, but I think it doesn't solve the problem in question. It is more a QoL-suggestion so you know which planet/moon you have still to map, the "go through from 1 to x "-method is rather inefficient.

I came to suggestion section to propose the same thing. Glad to see there are others who think alike.

Before 3.3 it was quite easy to see which bodies I not scanned yet, they were shown as "unexplored".
But now I often flying to object only to realize I already mapped it. Blue overlay does not help much. It still requires flying close to object and sometimes present on bodies I not mapped yet.
So I have to surface-map 1 A, exit surface scan mode, open system map, fly and surface-map 1 B, open system map… Any attempt to save some time and fly to nearest body means I probably forget which ones I already mapped.
New exploration mechanics already makes complete scanning/mapping of the system much longer than before. And inability to map bodies in most effective order (based on distance from current position) does not improve situation.

I think the best solution is to make left-panel’s icons of bodies/objects (ones to the left of the object's name) color-coded.

For not scanned and not mapped (but discovered) use "shaded" dark-orange.
For fully scanned with FSS – "normal" orange.
For surface mappedblue.

This way it would be again possible to use left panel for in-system navigation. Without the need to open system map after each object.

I asked for something like that [M] in the 'Early' beta... got ignored by ED then too.
seems they care less than you might think!

This will make our lives much easier.

A simple planet icon in the nav panel:

1. Red planet icon - not mapped
2. Blue planet icon - mapped

+1 [up]

Until Frontier fixes this we'll have to look into the right side panel, codex, journal ... pfeww...

to see what we have mapped.

I happily would welcome a blue/red color code instead of going through three nested tables...

Having just finished my first quick exploration run since the beta...Yes please. Especially on larger/more complex systems (specifically where there are numerous gas giants with multiple moons) this would streamline the mapping process dramatically.

Yassssss.... I never log into these forums, but I had that exact same thought while trying to figure out which bodies I'd already mapped, and this would be the best place to ask for. It would be such an easy thing to change (I imagine). It's kind of annoying that they haven't already done it.

But, FDev, Pleassssssssssse
