Advanced Research

Does anybody know what exactly Advanced Research does?
It is acumulation of your research progress? Does it help with future researchs?
I cannot find anything online about it.

From the ingame help menu:

So it improves education, but I don't know how much.

I had fully researched two animals yesterday, so I let the vet research one further. I had like 2-3 mm on the Advanced Research bar. Then I got another animal so I've started researching that and the bar depleted. But also there is progres bar on the animal I was researching so there is something to unlock. Maybe that's the education bonus they're talking about in the help menu. But I still dont know what the bar does..
