Hey ... I actually LIKE the extra dogfighting and harder NPCs. But make them REAL AI ... not Cheating AimBots.
And why PUNISH my poor FDL ? It was doing no harm to frontier.

The majority of players that NEVER visit these forums are wondering what happened to the game they originally paid for.......and so am I.
I actually am starting to get the game I paid for.Anyway, a rather generic "I have no skill so I'll make silly analogies about real-life stuff while assuming the computer cheats" OP. Only outstanding point was "AI doesnt deserve to kill REAL players" as it is simultaneously the most absurd and most honest thing the 'casual rant brigade' has presented.
Sorry btw, they are supposed to kill humans. Espescially mediocre humans suffering from a strong and undeserved sense of entitlement.![]()
I have an IDEA .... I want NPCs to run into asteroids again .... because its a normal mistake .... hell we still do it on occasion.
as a fellow FDL pilot, I highly disagree with the OP; current FDL heat dissipation is okay despite being not as awesome as before... and coupled with huge beam and huge multicannon weaponry, finally the FDL is no longer feel inferior to FAS or Vultures in weapon availability; and with FDL much superior shield compared to both fighters which help a lot against this new combat AI... and I can't believe how someone who fly an FDL is complaining about the new AI.
Didn't you know that any opinion that doesn't fall in with general masses on this forum is suppressed and gets laughed at?It's hilarious that when someone voices his own opinion, which is completely valid (after all, he did pay money and the game HAS changed well past what he bought), the fanbois come out and all over him. You people are absolutely disgusting human being.
FDL has one more unique asset, it has great strafing thrusters... put 4 pips to engine and the FDL can be a helicopter/gunship in space, on the other hand put 4 pips to sys and the FDL became shield tank while still very mobile for it's shield size (assuming you're anywhere near maxed the shield) ; it's really a ship that test and reward your combat skills.I actually agree with you napoleon.....
At one stage I was scared that they would re-nerf our agility back to that of a python like it was in the past.
And I am glad with the number of Huge Weapons available to us.
Cheating AI still needs lots of work though ..... make it even harder if necessary but make it fallible and more real as well.
How do you know? There is no way you could have gauged the difficulty of the AI before you bought, and played the game. So the notion that there was some bait and switch is nonsense. What you mean to say is, you became accustomed to the original difficulty, ans want to complain about the change. Implying otherwise is just a bit dishonest.
Uhh.. Maybe I'm just the only one who does this, but there are these websites known as Youtube and Twitch where you can watch people playing just about any game out there so you can get a feel for what it'll be like before you buy it. And getting used to the original difficulty only to have it changed a year and a half later, I think, is a pretty fair point to be arguing.
What's not really fair is so many people who I never see on the forums showing up to voice their opinions, only to be jumped on by the exact same people every single time, in some rather strange attempt to defend their "difficult" AI when there's obviously glaring problems with the AI that need to be resolved.
I fly a Python rather than an FDL and the NPC changes have completely ruined the game for me. After a break of a couple of months I came back to the game and over the course of three days have not been able to kill a single NPC. Not one. Every engagement follows the same pattern; the NPC spams chaff constantly, zooms on to my six and sits there spraying out insane damage, hitting with every shot. That kind of opponent may be fun if you're are really great player, but for a Joe Average like me they are severely unfunny.Hey ... I actually LIKE the extra dogfighting and harder NPCs. they should miss the enemy 60% of the time with railguns just like real players do for example.
Hell Mr Fang,
I can miss anacondas at 500m with a damn frag cannon. It isn't easy, but if you practise doing it you'll git gud, trust me.
I really don't understand why the improved AI need to be universal - to my mind anybody who runs up and down regular trade ship routes blowing people away would be hunted down and killed pretty fast by cop/navy ships, because they're interfering with the free flow of essentials to keep systems alive, and to allow economic growth.
On the other hand places like anarchy systems, res sites and so forth - well, why would any sensible freighter pilot be wandering around in those sorts of places anyway?
It's not the improved AI so much as the fact they're flying some pretty nasty ships and firing big guns n stuff anyhow, so make the piratey types who interdict you on normal trade routes a fair bit less stupendous, thereby allowing those following peaceful trades to largely go about their job unhindered, and provide copious amounts of uber NPCs in all the other bits of space, so those flying combat ships can easily find a fight against a tougher opponent.
