Ailurus Zoo

The area dedicated to primates has two new additions. Between the tropical hall and the exhibits for chimpanzees and bonobos I have built two similar exhibits for macaques and mandrills.

The exhibit for macaques has a big observation platform for the visitors, without any visual barriers to see the animals. As it uses a pit as a separation barrier, visitors have a view from above. To give them a same level view, there are some rock formations that put the animals to a more or less similar height.

There's also a small pool and river:

Mandrill's exhibit is similar, but they have two observation areas. One is basically the same than the previous exhibit but smaller. The other is similar to the viewpoints for the big cats, a big glass window. I still need to work on this exhibit ;)

This is a general view of the entire area. On the left you can see the exhibits for mandrills and macaques. On the right the ones for chimpanzees and bonobos:

The exhibits for great apes have been improved with the new fake rocks:

I make a break from showing animal exhibits to show you the zoo entrance.

Ailurus Zoo entrance is heavily based on the Barcelona Zoo entrances. I even used the Barcelona Zoo logo for it

To allow visitors to get to the zoo using their bikes, a bike parking has been installed just next to the entrance:

At each side of the main entrance there is a building. On one side we can find the zoo shop and on the other one a small restaurant (I'll probably build a bigger one somewhere else):

And here's a general overview of the entrance and the small dodo fountain (the big one is inside the zoo):

The former NA zone with a big mixed exhibit of bisons and pronghorns disappeared, and now its inhabitants has been moved to new locations. Bisons are still in a more or less temporary exhibit. Pronghorns are already on its new exhibit.

Next to the tropical hall there was a big exhibit for kangaroos. This exhibit has been divided in two exhibits: one for pronghorns and other for kangaroos. Today, I'll show you this two exhibits.

Both exhibits are quite simple but they are great for the visitors as there are no visual barriers and animals can be seen very well. Exhibits are big enough and with all the enrichment to fulfil the needs of the animals.

With the release of the Aquatic pack I had the animals I needed to finish the tropical hall. Until now I had no time to build their exhibits as I've been busy with the construction of some other exhibits and buildings outside.

Now, the tropical hall have a big sign on the entrance. This hall is called "El Bosc Inundat" (The Flooded Forest")

Actually it is not focused on aquatic animals, as the first animals that you encounter (after the terrariums) are the lemurs, but later the water becomes more and more important as you find gharials, otters and caimans.

The last part to be built are the exhibits for giant otters and Cuvier's dwarf caimans. There's a big swimming pool, divided by a glass barrier so both species can see each other when they are swimming:

Guests have three main observation zones. One at ground level, one underwater and the last one over the exhibits.

I'm planning to upload the zoo on the workshop few weeks after the release the 1.5 patch, as I'll include some custom billboards and maybe some animal of the last DLC. Anyway, the zoo is still WIP and it will be expanded a lot in the future.
