Powerplay Aisling merits clarification?

I think I am in week 3 (I joined on a Wednesday I believe...is there a way to tell what week I am in for sure)anyways....I turned in 750 credits last week....got my 1000 credits.....my right panel shows I am rating 3 and has 440 merits shown. I have about 600 yet to turn in from destroying Kumo Crew ships. My goal is getting the prismatic shields. I understand that the week closes about 1 am CDT on Thursdays. If I turn in the 600 I have now will I be eligible after the next cycle?

If you end a cycle with 750 or more merits, you will be rating 3 or higher the following cycle.

As for how long you've been pledged - if you go to Galactic Powers, Aisling Duval and then Rating, you'll be told exactly how long you've been pledged in weeks and days.

Not true.

I had 750 merits and am only rating 2 (puzzle me that!). The game takes more than half of your merits away from you **before** your new rank is assigned. That means that if you want rating 3, you will need at least 1500 merits, which is not what the game tells us.

Or, at least it did to me...

I think you just got unlucky. The game only displays even merit numbers, but merit decay literally splits old merits into two. So maybe your actual merit balance was 749.8, which is below 750 but may have been displayed as that. Other people were unlucky with that as well (it's more annoying of course if you lose your rank 5 because the game says you have 10k merits when you are just short). You can try contacting support, they do restore merits that are lost from buggy occurences, don't think they can give you PP rankings though.

I didn't have any old merits. I bought pamphlets and ran them around. I don't see how that funky division could have happened.

Well, I sent in a ticket, but we'll see. I don't think I will be happy with a mere restoration. That's a week lost.

Hmm if all 750 merits were earned last cycle that's strange then, never heard about that happening before. Your merit starting balance this week, is it 375 like it should be or something fishy too?

I never had that problem. rank always seemed assigned before it halved the merits. Maybe you were rank 3 for a week and forget to check or didn't play ED until the week after?

I had precisely 750 merits. then it was more than halved, before I ranked. When the dust cleared, Rating 2, not Rating 3.

I've built it back up to 760 (you know, since customer disservice couldn't be bothered to get back to me), in anticipation of the new weekly tick. We'll see what happens, but I have had issues with devs before.
