Now my train of thought is derailing but... What if Frontier put in a reference to the xenomorph world from Alien? What if we are looking for system A6 454?

I can confirm the existence of both sites 6 and 7. Been to both, collected 12 artifacts from the Hex one. Landed at the other site (I still don't see Elmo) to give my eyes a break from VR for an hour or so. Both sites are dotted with what looks like ice, but it looks really eerie.
Also, I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but there seem to be LOD issues with both sites. They don't seem to fully take shape until I'm only 50 or so meters from them in my Asp.
Weirdly, the "Elmo" one can be seen from at least 20 km away, without having to fly close for it to "spawn" first, as others have suggested. It's by far the easiest to spot from the air.
I'll start running combination tests on the obelisks in an hour or so, assuming I don't fall asleep.
Has there been enough data-mining going on (in Solo) at these two new sites to confirm that we now have Alpha-1, Alpha-2, Beta-1 and Beta-2?
That is, are the new data found in the sites discovered today following in sequence from the other two types that were known before, and together fill the "middle" third of the set?
Ah, ok thanks for that. But if the new data follows in sequence, it's still a safe bet to call it Beta-2. That's all I needed, but as usual you are thoroughThe new beta site has some of the same data as the other beta sites and some new data from the same range (the middle third of the 101 pieces). Nothing we haven't previously got from open/PG. Combined beta-1 and beta-2 don't have the full 34 pieces available from that type of site, rather less than 20 distinct pieces I think. That'd suggest we need perhaps 3-5 other beta configurations to find the complete middle third in solo.
Just found a neutron star at HR 3326 so just posting it in case it's useful for anyone. 300kls out from the main star though so I suspect it's not going to be of much practical use.
Nice system though with a very nice looking blue/white main star and a shed load of dwarf stars, gas giants & moons
Just trying to short-cut some effort... is Culture 8 available from the Col 173 "Alpha" site?
If you look at the image in MadDogMurdock's post below, the glyph at the very left of the image is the same as the one in the very middle. (Large triangle in the lower most position, two triangles in 'columns' 1, 3 & 4, and column 2 empty. The small triangles in 'column' 4 aren't very clear but they are there when you look closely).
Also possibly noteworthy is that both of these glyphs have been inscribed over the original symbols that were on those sections, and it the same original symbols under both of the glyphs. The original symbols are the ones which can be seen on the section just to the right of the very central section in the image in MadDogMurdock's post.
I just headed over to the "Hex" side discovered by CMDR noodlez team and did a very first "draft" map with most of the info i could get yet for this map. Because of the bad light the map is very "draft". I hope i can get a better image tomorrow with better light.
And then i also will take screenshots for the detailed clustermaps.

(link to album will follow).
I will use same numbering as in the first site, so cluster H will begin with number 9!
Cluster E (orb) is moved, i choose the triangle next over cluster C and the new triangle at the very up becomes the new letter J (it's orb too).
So former great cluster G i "moved" to the bottom right.
I prefered to use same Clusternaming for Obelisks-Groups that are identically in the first ruins of this type beta (hex) and also alpha (elmo). And i think we need a new notation. So we called the first ruins discoverd, the Hex-Layout, as beta site. And the second layout discovered we use alpha site.
I think it would be good to use following notation:
All first discovered sites with floor print and same "codex"-layout (obelisks groups) we call beta.1
The discovered beta (Hex) layout by CMDR noodlz team would then be beta.2
The first two discovered sites with round or elmo layout we call alpha.1
The discovered round or elmo layout by CMDR noodlz team we call alpha.2
And if we will find more sites with same floor print but different "codex"-layout (obelisks groups) we call them apha.X or beta.X (X for next free number).
I hope this will be in the sense of the community.
BTW: great job from team "noodlz" [up]
Thanks and have a good night.
