Alliance: Call to Arms

Went out with FalconFly to the Bamileng CZ ... managed about 1,000,000 + in bonds between us.
Frame rate was horrible... back to the bad old days..sound and image stuttering. Hope it improves.
Saw quite a few Vultures flying around for the first time.... and as I fly a Vulture I can safely say these npc pilots were crap. lol
Hope with 1.3 that all our efforts will result in an improvement for our factions.

Edmund Mahon looks the least charismatic of all powers :(

1 Power for the alliance is not enough

Are you kidding? The man is 114 years old yet he looks like he's in his mid 30s! He must be doing something right! I was expecting someone who looks like Santa Claus or at best Obi-Wan Kenobi instead.

That's thanks to cryogenic freezing, either that or medical science, or both, who knows.
As for the Powerplay features, I don't know what to do. I feel like supporting Aisling Duval for her beauty, cause, and the Prismatic Shield, but I don't want to abandon Alliance space temporarily.

I feel like the Alliance needs at least one more faction... one that isn't too shy about the use of PEW PEW to get SOME (keyword) things done but not all. A.R.C.U. would fall nicely in line with that.

Cue mysterious and regular missions asking for progenitor cells to Gateway...

Has anybody actually pledged to Mahon yet? I know I haven't - if I'm understanding it right if I pledge to him and then head to a system where Alliance don't have control, I can be attacked on sight with no penalty? Not useful for trading and somebody who lives on the edge of Alliance space.

Basically I went into Powerplay last night to take a look around and work out how it all works and I think I came away even more confused. If you did the same Barking Mad has made a seriously helpful guide here.

I have. If I didn't I'd be tempted to go with Hudson.

My thoughts exactly!!!!! ;)

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance, remember that.

Should be ARCUs motto really.

Hit the Bamileng CZ again today.... pew..pew..pew... belligerent bast*ards  .... going to stick at it unless someone can suggest a more pertinent target.

EDIT: 2nd stint at Bamileng..... pew..pew...pew.... 2M+ so far..... hope it's not bugged and helps :(

Having pledged to Mahon I've just done my first Powerplay based Alliance mission... delivering ten tonnes of paperwork and, uh, biowaste (somehow feels very appropriate considering this is politics we're dealing with...). The Alliance definitely loves its paperwork. Tau Bootis is in the top ten systems so I'm going to try and deliver a load of legislative, trade agreement thingies to them, but I think I'd rather do it in my Cobra than the Type 6 - which is a problem because I'm at Gateway in 'Tamland' and not 'Barebones'.

Does anybody have any experience with the Diamondback Scout yet? Now that I have a dedicated freighter/cargo ship I'm considering trading my beloved Cobra for one if it's better in combat.

Quick question that might be pertinent: BD+31 2373 (Mahon Exploited system) has the Alliance faction (BD Alliance Assembly) at 50%. The Fed faction (BD Logistics, on 20%) and one of the independents (Liberals, on 0%) are at war, yet the system as a whole remains Independent. Other independent (central Services) is on 27% and the local pirates are on 0%. Shouldn't this mean it should become an Alliance system?

I'd hoped Powerplay would actually rationalise the minor faction situation...

I like that.... gonna use it...;)

Good! glad you like it though I fear Chris Roberts may have something to say about that :) It works with the group I think.

The Diamondback scout is pretty good. I had it in Beta and I particularly liked the weapon placement which is far better than the Cobra's. I enjoyed flying it though I still won't get rid of the Cobra ever... :)

Managed to download 1.3 last night, so far I'm liking some of the new changes. Fuel for the Cobra Mark III hasn't taken too much of an impact on cost (it's just a little more than it was in 1.2), managed to get interdicted twice by pirate vessels, submitted to both and killed them.
First pirate was an Diamondback Scout, who I attacked with only my beam lasers, second pirate was an Asp, which I used my Beam Lasers to drop his shields and was using a combination of Beam Lasers and Seeker Missiles on his hull. Each missile was dealing 6.5% damage to his hull. Both pirates were Mostly Harmless.
I was on my way to Bamileng for some CZ action, but got disconnected mid-hyperspace, so I decided to jump off for the day.

Darn, tried the Bamileng CZ again today with Sanctuary - but the Servers (Transaction Server) really don't like us anymore since V1.3 it seems.... Nothing but lag, problems, anomalies and disconnects :(

I'll probably try again in Solo for a while (see if that helps), but so far V1.3 isn't too friendly for my connection it seems...
But right now, I got severe troubles just getting into the Game...
Here's hoping for a bugfix next week.

Wasn't too bad in the end FalconFly...we did some hefty damage :D

Bamileng Syndicate down to 13% ... Crimson Fortune & Co at 14%

I have to say I had less 'stuttering' tonight..... Hope we all get good connections over the coming days..and weeks...and.........years :D
